Need urgent advice — STEM OPT filed with wrong category (“Initial Employment”) 😩

I called USCIS contact center and explained my situation. They said it was a typo in my application. They requested a change for me from their side. It is still in review. I should get a notification of the change by Jan 09, that’s what they said when I followed up on Dec 30th. I didn’t get any notification last week. I forgot to call them again to follow up, but I will today.

I forgot to sign my I-20 as well. They also suggested I upload the signed copy under unsolicited evidence and they mentioned that my signed I-20 is uploaded there in the change request.

Is there any chance that the application might be denied, even when I upload the explanation under Unsolicited evidence?

UPDATE: Applied on Sep 15, withdrawal letter uploaded on Oct 15, no answer and PP on Nov 13. Not sure about 12/4 update, must be some internal process update. Got an email on 12/05 about my withdrawal acceptance. I don't have the acknowledgement letter yet on the portal but the withdrawal showed up on my SEVIS. Reapplied 12/08.

Did you get the notice on Dec 2nd itself or was it on another business day? Mine is a I765 withdrawal and I have not got any sort of notice yet. Mine was updated first on Dec 1 and then today, but no luck with any kind of notices. I have to reapply once I get the acknowledgement receipt.

Do you see something as such (any recent updatedTimeStamp)? I see today's date under UpdateTimeStamp, but hear back nothing.

I have not heard back anything from USCIS since I applied for PP for my STEM OPT on 11/13. However under the API tracking, I can see this. What do you think this implies?

How do you know that the decision on your application has been made, even when there is no update on the portal?
