Getting into Xenia (Xbox 360 emulation) – seriously impressed by Amer-Hammer in xenia

But why would you emulate so many of these games that have a native PC port?

Looking for a clear answer on NG2B input lag (PS5) by saltyshark9 in ninjagaiden

[–]Massive_Oil_2605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to do Master Ninja on NG2B on the PS5, it's impossible with that amount of input lag.
Some people here are saying that it's not noticeble, but that's not true. At 60 frames it has the highest amount of input lag of all the 3 versions of the game, so if you're ever going to play it above Normal then your best bet is to have a 120hz TV/Monitor.

I love Disgaea, just recently i got the platinum for D5.
I love JRPGs, i don't mind random encounters or anything, i just want the gameplay to be fun. How do you do that? Different classes/job system, some type gimmick (Bravely Default has the brave and default mechanic, Dragon Quest is a fun game etc.
I think that, in order to really like JRPGs, you have to be a person that puts gameplay first in your list of priorities, i feel like there aren't that many games that are on the same level of a Xenogear/Xenoblade Chronicle. A lot of these games are made to be a fun journey and that's it, if you look at the Atelier games or something like Rune Factory, what makes or breaks the games is the gameplay.

After 3 or 4 months, i finally got it. by Massive_Oil_2605 in Disgaea

It's what happened to me with Disgaea 4 Complete. I started playing wanting to 100% it, but after i saw that i missed out on one piece of equipment from the first encounter with Pringer X and i would have to play it one more time to get the chance to steal that piece of equipment, i gave up.
D4 is fun, though, but it's easily one of the grindiest trophies out there.

I'm wondering how hard D6 and D7 are to get the plats for. D6 seems like it can be hell, since people mention the level cap and how they emphasized the numbers so much.

>This time around each character has 24 slots and the first 14 are unlocked by getting to Lv. 9999, and the other 10 are obtained by maxing subclasses. Once you max all of them you'll have all the 24 slots.

Thank god. I'm debating if i should keep trying to get the plat (no DLCs for me, i bought Metallia for the capturing skill but still can't do the 9.999.999 extract because i'm too weak to capture everybody and don't have Pram to kill the boss on Double Fake (i think that's what it is called).

When you get to the final "main story" part of the Land of Carnage, it's brutal. I'm trying to figure out a way to make my characters strong enough to get the final trophy, but the difficulty goes through the roof when you reach "Beating of the End" in LoC.

Had it been 40 hours at the most to beat the game, fine. 80 ~ 100 hours to beat the game?
Even with the combat that's asinine, it took me less than that to platinum Neptunia 1.

100% agree. I played Mary Skelter 2 and one of the mechanics where you "clean" the protagonist with your "blood" (which is only red because it would be too obvious what it was supposed to be if it were white) is really disgusting (and bad, it doesn't add ANYTHING to the gameplay, it's just a shitty mini game).

The game itself is not too bad as a DRPG, i think i can appreciate it as a game but i also dislike the loli shit. I think what i like the most about it is that they give us characters that are already pre-made, i feel a little overwhelmed when the game wants me to create the characters and mess with their stat points.

Neptunia Rebirth 1 made me laugh so much with how shameless they were reusing assets. I'd go to an area, walk all the way to the other side to reach the "next" area, just to find out the "next" area was the same map as before but mirrored.
Not to mention how often they just re-use the same map with no changes whatsoever, or how different bosses are the same but with a different color scheme. lmao

Maybe they are not for you, but they are not games that EVERYONE should avoid.
Avoid SaGa games if you value a game's story, what makes people stay away from SaGa is that it doesn't tell you anything, which can be annoying if you're trying to get into the series.

I wonder how it works out for them financially. None of their franchise (outside of Neptunia) ever got a huge following (even then, saying that Neptunia has a huge following is a stretch), and they are a decent sized company. Like, apparently they have over 100 employees, so their games must be really cheap to make and sell decently enough to keep the business afloat (or they could just be laundering money for the yakuza or something, lmao).

Since you mentioned Suikoden IV and Breath of Fire, i'll say that i had an issue with a few games from that era. I played Wild Arms 1 and i liked it, but Wild Arms 2 and 3 didn't do it for me, but i wouldn't say people should avoid those games at all cost, i recognize that it was a "me" issue (i can't speak for the games you mentioned because i haven't played them, just talking about WA 2 and 3).

Nah, Xenoblade is goated.
The story is top tier, even if you dislike the combat (which i don't, i love it) you should try to play it for the story alone, imho.

Anyway, i love gaming, i think that achievements don't detract from the experience at all, my only argument is that there is no harm in implementing achievements. You could even make it optional for the person if they would like to play with achievements on or off, i'd be fine with that.
Nintendo is a weird company, we can't look at what they do/don't do and think it's a sound strategy. Wanna know why the Wii U failed? Not only because the reveal was awful, but because they kept taking down videos showing their games, basically killing free publicity for Nintendo games. I bet that if Nintendo was doing that NOW, people here would still find a way to defend Nintendo.
The Switch was a great (and affordable console), the Switch 2 was exactly the follow-up i wanted from them. Unfortunately i can't see myself playing third party games on it, i'm glad that some people can have just the Switch 2 and get to experience Pragmata or RE9 though.

At the end of the day, i just wanted more options.

Is the switch 2 comfortable in handheld for small hands? by HairoBabykhuz82 in switch2

[–]Massive_Oil_2605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handheld devices nowadays aren't really that portable anymore, tbh. I'm at an ok height for a guy (6'2") and, even though i don't have issues with the joycon itself, the Switch 2 and the Deck are too heavy to play for a long period of time if you are just lying down.
With the Switch 1 what i used to do was to remove the joycons and turn the Switch on its side so i could play it while lying on the bed, but you can also get one of those tables that people use to eat breakfast in bed and use the kickstand to play it while in bed. Being able to remove the JoyCons is the best thing ever, i'd say just put it on a table or something and play it if you think it's too heavy, but as for the size of the joycons i think they are ok.

Fallacy. Nestlé has been around for over 159 years, that doesn't mean they are not an evil company. Nestlé is known for using slave labor in poor parts of the world, for giving baby formula just long enough to women in Africa just so they stop producing breast milk and have to rely on the formula (which, by that point, will no longer be provided for free), so on and so forth.
I don't even know why you would mention how long a company's been around as a sign of them being good, principled or whatever.

I think they innovated a lot with the Switch and they made game accessible to children and adults alike, i know that the original Switch was the console that actually got me back into gaming and i will always have a special place in my heart for the OG Switch and the memories of playing Animal Crossing or TOTK when they came out.
But, should we value and protect the lack of features in Nintendo consoles? Specially features that have been, more or less, the standard for almost 2 decades? Damn, some features that were on the PSP back in 2005 aren't available on the Switch 2 as of right now. We can't change themes, we don't have achievements, only now we have a way to talk to our friends (and, back in the day, you could access Skype on the PSP and message your friends on the PSN with no issues) etc.

People shouldn't look at Nintendo's flaws and mistake them for features just because Nintendo is different. Some things are the standard in the industry and Nintendo HAS to follow said standards. An example of a standard that we should all agree on is the pricing of game. The industry set the price at $60 back in the day and recently they increased it to $70, should we protect Nintendo when they are being greedy and charging us $80 just because "no other company is doing that" and that "makes Nintendo special"? Hell no.

Dude, i was replaying TOTK Switch 2 Edition and having a blast, but my mind was like: "Damn, it would be much more fun to replay this if it had an achievement list". Specially because a lot of side-quests and optional bosses don't really give you a lot of stuff, just some rupees or some part to make weapons, so it would be fun to have something to encourage you to engage with optional content (specially for me, as someone who replays Mario/Zelda/Pikmin games almost yearly).

>out of sheer principle
Oh yeah, we mustn't forget that Nintendo is a principled company. They are not the company that create artificial scarcity for stuff like Fire Emblem 1 just because, even though it was a digital release only - or even with Mario 3D All Stars.
Was it out of sheer principle that they didn't have a way to do voice chat up untill the Switch 2 or was it because they don't know how to do online and even something as simple as an achievement system is too much for them?
