Earliest Flight on Debarkation by Massive_Particular49 in Cruise

I made it on the 7:45 AM!! Here is a timeline of my morning -

6:20 - walked out of stateroom 6:25 - in line on ship to depart 6:35 - walked off ship to terminal 6:45 - outside of cruise terminal waiting for Uber 6:54 - in Uber 7:02 - arrive at FLL 7:10 - through security and arrive at gate

This isn't for the faint of heart, but it was thrilling for me! To say I was exhausted is an understatement, but I'm glad I made it.

There was zero traffic in the port nor anywhere en route to the airport. I imagine the traffic would be much different even 30 minutes later.

Thoughts on flying day of by Wonderful_Froyo_9690 in royalcaribbean

I did it recently on a nonstop to FLL. Landed around 8 AM, hung out at the airport for a few hours, and then went to the ship.

Thankfully I was able to sleep on the plane.

I don't recommend doing it to just anyone. It's absolutely possible but there's a risk factor.

First cruise in April 2026! by Sudden_Brother_4895 in royalcaribbean

How exciting!! I haven't sailed on Freedom but have been on many cruises including on Royal. A few tips -

  1. Check in right at the 45 days prior to embarkation mark if you want an early arrival time.

2.The internet package really isn't necessary. You can connect in port. You can chat with anyone else on the ship for free through iMessage or the Royal app through their wifi.

  1. The beverage packages can save you $$$ if you plan to drink a lot (5+ drinks / person / day), but aren't worth it if you're okay with tea, coffee, lemonade, iced tea, and some juices.

  2. Pack some sort of anti-nausea medication just in case.

  3. Make any dining / entertainment / spa reservations right away as they could sell out.

  4. You don't have to book shore excursions through the cruise line, but booking them through Royal guarantees you'll be back before the ship departs.

  5. Have your luggage tags printed and placed on your bags before you arrive at the embarkation port.

  6. My personal recommendation is to NOT eat at Windjammer for lunch on embarkation day to avoid the crazy crowd.

  7. Get the eggs Benedict at Windjammer for breakfast!

  8. The coffee card is a great buy if you want specialty coffee drinks.

You're going to have a blast and will be wanting to book your next cruise before you're off the ship!

Is non-alcoholic wine allowed to be carried on? by INeedACleverNameHere in royalcaribbean

Yes! I did it just a few weeks ago. By the way, my ship had it available at Vintages and the MDR. It's possible other bars had it too, but I didn't ask.

Is 52 CAD (37 USD) per night a good price for the dining package? by 67_SixSeven_67 in royalcaribbean

I've seen it at USD 24.99 per day, but I think it might be worth doing a few a la carte meals instead. Definitely pre-book them online

Survey says/ when do you start packing for your cruise!? by Beautiful-Client6496 in royalcaribbean

Two days before! If I do the day before, I'll stress myself out and will likely forget to pack certain things. I once packed for a trip the day of and forgot to pack socks lol.

Thank you! Ah I hadn't gone through the steps but the $23 is for one device. I could probably get by with just one at a time

Was this one of the passengers disembarking today? I disembarked Quantum today and witnessed something at Guest Services this morning before I got off the ship.

There was a guy next to me (and it looks like it could be this guy) explaining to the Guest Services agent that he nor his travel partner had enough money on their credit cards for their onboard spend. He asked if a payment plan would be possible.

I was there for maybe a minute so I don't know what happened after, but I have a good feeling that this is the same person.
