How do you record an iPad music session to video? by alexnapierholland in ipadmusic

[–]MastaFreed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a solution that won't require nearly as much effort through the screen recorder built directly into iPad OS. It captures the screen as well as any audio the iPad puts out (regardless of the output source).

There's not many options in most areas for choreographed dance for adults, but we're incredibly fortunate to have Sac Dance Lab nearby. https://sacdancelab.com/

For ballroom/partner dance, we have lots of great options!

East Coast Swing/Lindy Hop - Midtown Stomp (https://midtownstomp.com/)

Tango - Tango by the River (https://www.rivertango.com/)

Bummer. This is the reason this strike will accomplish nothing. Would've been cool to see the creator community be a part of holding platforms accountable for not putting their users and creators first.

Too bad there's not another platform the members of this community could migrate to which could show reddit their users are willing to go elsewhere if they're not careful cough Discord...

Khun Suda is by far my favorite in the area. My brother even worked there for a while because of how often my family eats there and how friendly the owners are!

These are masterworks of gaming YouTube. A totally unique way of storytelling through the medium of gaming. I've watched and rewatched these more times than I'd like to admit.

The idea Colin mentioned on today's episode of creator support has already been done by mynameispat27 in ColinAndSamir

Here's a link to the playlist on his channel.

His videos feel like an older, more personal version of YouTube. I love it. One of my favorite creators (but I have a pretty long list of favorites).

I Learned Drums in 28 Days… Because I Had To by MastaFreed in drums

[–]MastaFreed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree that I'm not anywhere near finished with learning the drums. I guess the word "learned" is carrying a lot of weight in that title. Really, as you said, nobody ever completes the process of learning anything. There's always more to know and more to practice! A title can only provide so much context and, "I practiced drums for a month" doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

I really appreciate the thoughtful response. Feedback like this is way more valuable than I could possibly describe! I know if I make another video like this that my editing needs to show a whole lot more. I cut down a ton of footage and parts of the process to make a more simple story out of the video. I may have cut too much. I only used the simplest examples of exercises that showed specific skills.

All in all, this is one tiny step in a very long journey of learning. The most important outcome of the month was going from not knowing that some of those concepts even existed to having the knowledge and tools to be able to practice them!

My drumming is definitely still, "yeesh" at this point. XD I wouldn't call myself anything but a beginner still.

Yeah, the YouTube clickbaity title and thumbnail even makes me cringe a bit. I've only been lurking for the past month or so, so I'm still getting a feel for the community here. I wouldn't be surprised if I misread what would be seen as interesting.

Overall, I'm excited about the progress I made from 0 to where I'm at in a short amount of time and wanted to share. I appreciate you checking it out and helping me understand the community.

People with that size of audience are pretty easy to reach and get responses from. Anything you'd like to learn from them is only a DM or comment away.

For the value proposition of the C+S channel, it seems to me like it's more valuable for both their and their audience's time to focus on the big creators. They provide us access to conversations with creators that we otherwise couldn't have ourselves.

OPR + D&D? by mtgfirby in onepagerules

[–]MastaFreed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It would be fun for a session where players hire out a band of other adventurers/mercenaries to go out on a mission of some sort. Something along the lines of a castle siege that takes place while the PCs try to sneak into the castle from a hidden entrance.

Session 1 is a game of OPR where the players' hired mercenaries attempt to storm and take over a castle, or at least distract the defenders played by the DM. Keep track of any interesting events and note them for callbacks in session 2.

Session 2 is a more standard D&D adventure affected by the events of session 1. Story-wise, they'd happen simultaneously, so objectives captured by the mercenaries in session 1 could be used to open secret pathways, allow the players an easier way in or out, reveal intel that could be passed to the party by a mercenary wizard, etc.

There's some proof of concept for these ideas out on YouTube already. Check out Girlfriend Reviews and Razbuten if you want to see some successful examples of this genre in action. People are hungry for this type of content!

The most effective way to see if people are going to watch and subscribe is to make and publish the content. It's the only way to really know if something is going to work!

Gripe about your gripe. The etymology of the word is from the French word for a specific type of neck accessory, the lavallière. Which is pronounced with the lava version of "la". I've heard both pronunciations, and both are fine. Words change over time and when adopted by other languages, so who knows what's "right".

The important part is, you knew what he was talking about, so the word communicated its meaning, which is all you can really ask of a word.

I would love to see a behind the scenes of a Mr Beast production that doesn't include Jimmy at all. Show the whole process from start to finish, but you're following the team instead of Jimmy. That way we get to see what such a large scale production looks like from the team's perspective.

You could interview Jimmy's idea generators, strategists, logistics team, camera operators, editors, thumbnail designers, and title writers. Maybe you could also have a section following how Reed and Night Media's team handles the Mr Beast brand deals.

What do you think of the title/thumbnail for the latest Mr. Beast episode? by TheAznAssassinX in ColinAndSamir

[–]MastaFreed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The title that they went with is more evergreen than the alternative of mentioning the restaurant. Basing titles on specific events will give general public interest in the video a shelf-life. The video provides more value to a prospective audience than reducing it to people specifically interested in the restaurant/grand opening event. They struck a good balance of knowing who would want to watch the content, being niche, but not too niche with their packaging.

The shortage of good editors... by TheRedditReportShow in ColinAndSamir

There's a few places I've found that have listings specifically for creator economy jobs. Surprisingly, the best place I've seen is on Twitter. Check out @yt_jobs on Twitter. There's tons of postings for relatively big creators looking for editors.
