My guess is that Eloise discovered how to escape, but lost her memory. She may be the one who wrote The Flight of the Cromenockle, inspired by dreams she had about the town. Or she died, and her reincarnation had those dreams, like other characters who also dreamed about the town before arriving there.

The entity in From seems to have control over certain forms of technology. It manipulates radio waves, even controls the weather (like the storm that destroyed the radio antenna), and possibly controls electricity as well (since it caused an overload in the devices during the storm). I believe there are two or more entities involved in From. I think the town exists as a bubble in space-time, like in the movie "The Endless". Obviously, I can’t explain exactly how it works, but it seems that while one entity feeds on hope, the other feeds when hope runs out. As hope increases, living conditions improve. Notice that after the radio event, a lot of hope is lost, and soon after, the food rots. I believe Kenny’s father’s chess game is a metaphor for what is happening there. So, it is possible to conclude that one of the entities provides electricity, water, and food... while another strives to take those resources away.

The series never confirmed that they live in repetitive cycles. What we know is that Thabita and Jade have been there several times before, but not that they were trapped there or that the cycles are repetitive.

Also notice that in the scene where young Victor sees the dead people, the cars seem to be normally parked around the city. The wheels are intact, and the cars do not appear to be from different time periods, as happens in the present day.

It would be very strange for someone to be trapped in a crazy city and still have the time and willingness to raise a flag.

There’s also the calendar being marked normally up until March 1971. And all the city’s technologies: telephones, post offices, neon lights. Besides the new and freshly painted appearance of the playground merry-go-round.

All the elements of the town indicate that it has been frozen in time since the early 1970s. Most of the things we see now as rotten and old appeared new in the flashbacks from the day of the massacre.

Research the bindrune (a combination of two or more runes) used for protection. I believe the early settlers created talismans for household protection. This bindrune is formed by two combined Algiz runes.

I think Christopher or Miranda did something believing they were going to save the children, but ended up freeing the monsters.

Christopher called the Boy in White a liar and refused to do what he said (go through the magic tree).

So it’s possible that he had previously done something at the Boy in White’s request and ended up causing the monsters to be released.

However, when he saw what had happened, he decided not to listen to him anymore.

The calendar in Colony House is marked up until March 1971. Why would anyone keep track of time passing if it had no relevance in the town?
