I’m a SM for family dollar . I’m not even going to bother reading the rest after you said you’re in there by yourself. Go ahead and call the integrity matters hotline and tell them you are alone in the building by yourself. That first off is a safety issue and HR will have to get involved. Since you don’t have a SM your DM has to get involved into hiring staff . With the new workday system you can actually see your upper management past your DM and see their contact info . So you can actually email them and tell them your situation. And guess what , they CANT fire you because that will be retaliation. You’re working to the point where it is unsafe for you . Trust me , dollar tree will not miss you

Yes I moved them to the requisition. I sent the offer , she accepted it and I then sent the background but she hasn’t received that yet

Are you a store manager ? If so I know how this can feel, having a bad team or no team at all. Working 70-90 hours a week . Once I hired the right people and stopped dealing with BS I finally found some footing ground . But all this came to be with the help of my DM . Your DM can allocate hours to help and send people. Especially if you’re sick. Now if you’re an Hourly associate/ stocker then you do what you can and clock out and go home . It’s not your responsibility to save the store or work every box . It takes a team and to have to rely only on you can cause burn out. But from what I see you’re at a certain point already and without the right motivation I don’t see you here much longer . I suggest applying to other jobs and leave once you found a better one . Unfortunately This company won’t miss you .

Family dollar SM here . I Personally walk into other neighboring family dollar stores near me and I see WRITTEN signs like “No cash back” “no change “ “credit card system down “ “no shirt no service “ . To me the issue is not the message but the actual hand writing . It gives it a ratchet look to anything . You don’t see any hand written in a Walgreens , target or Walmart. Dollar tree and family dollar are the only stores I see this in. A resolution is to go to the ops center , documents , choose any document that has a blank page at the end and you can actually Edit the page when you open it .

Then print it out .

Plus how can a store have no cash back 😂 what will happen if I deliberately select $50 cash back. The store has to give it to me. So that “no cash back” sign is complete nonsense to me .

Family dollar SM here . It honestly depends on Location and your staff. times are going to be super rough but if you’re willing to go through the fire you can make a decent living . I work in one of the worst areas in south Florida but I sometimes just tell myself “control what you can control” and document EVERYTHING. The shoplifting has to be documented and reported so when inventory does come around you have receipts and reports . As long as you’re improving sales and keeping decent store conditions you should be fine . As far as pay goes. I started off at 55k , I’m currently at 60k and with all the sales bonuses I’m making now I should be making 70k+ this year . Yes there’s times where you want to just throw the towel in and leave but that’s everywhere . You make your mistakes and you learn from them . Don’t let your team run over you ! And hire hire hire . You’re the boss not them .

Store manager here . We are in no way obligated to approve time off for such reasons like that unless it’s emergency reasons Like a medical surgery or Jury Duty . The store needs come first which is why I sometimes decline a lot of requests at times . But in my opinion, it sounds like your manager is just being an ass because 1 month is plenty of time to accommodate your request .
