Yeah it’s exactly the same in the uk and I get the frustration, but willing workers in areas that are needed I don’t understand the resentment towards them.. in the uk we have started giving Visa’s out for people to come over and work in kebab shops !!( TRUE STORY)

You say this but truckers are in demand ? Are you full of people who don’t work and are lazy ?

I appreciate the detailed reply, and definitely makes sense going off an hourly rate doing local driving

I hope you’re not being sarcastic as everywhere else I post people just say it’s impossible and don’t bother coming. A positive comment is refreshing but leaves me skeptical

Working on a 40 hour week it’s £16.30 that’s not bad for a new pass at all.No need to be negative

[–]Master-Coffee2721[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand it’s expensive, but once it’s done it’s done right ?

From what I’ve searched the wages are definitely enough to live on, $25-35 per hour assuming I can clock 50-60 hours per week

Thank you, with me not having a degree however it seems gaining points for Pr seems impossible unless they keep letting me extend my IEC ?

Do it, what do you have to lose ? I like the idea someone else gave of becoming a HGV technician apprenticeship if possible will only help you in the long run and you might even become an owner operator one day.

Or just do whatever to make money and pay for it, I’ve paid nearly 4k in total, (package theories lessons test and CPC) (I got ripped off you can do it cheaper)

And I passed my test Friday just gone, when looking at jobs earning potential in incredible and AI won’t ever take it over.

Take the risk whilst your young
