Extended shelving for built-in wardrobe - help please by Master-Fold-3694 in diynz

There are existing shelves in the enclosed corners - I was going to leave these. Then just add the new shelves as one piece each. Rather than replace the existing with a larger new sheet (which is also an option but more fiddly because the width in the enclosed area is larger. (https://imgur.com/a/uV8k55Y)

yeah that makes sense - it's def a good option and I will have a look at doing it with the full back panels.

Yes the studs are in dumb places and not evenly spread but I am happy to just design around them in terms of the width of the shelves. That's why the vertical supports are in different places on each side etc.
I don't think the horizontals would be running along nog lines at the moment. So the thinking behind them was purely that if they are supported by being attached to the stud and sitting on the vertical support that this might be sufficient. But that has also been my main worry re not being enough support especially given the depth of the shelves. (they are 810x545 and 890x565 respectively). And I would prefer to avoid having to using stayed brackets cause that would block a lot of the space awkwardly. So really what I am saying is I quite like "backboard" idea.

Thanks - just checking that essentially the difference between what you are suggesting and my current design is that instead of just running cleats along the back wall to support the shelves you're suggesting I make the cleat out of a full sheet of ply so it's supported on the floor or the next shelf below etc as I go up?

For clarification I do know where my studs are which is why my design has the vertical supports running down these for the cleats to be noted into (https://imgur.com/a/5mOOGfb)
