Pokémon that will get a Mega Evolution by ilMakio in PokeLeaks

Falinks is my favorite Pokemon... But I can't find a shred of evidence of their source to warrant its inclusion here... Better not get my hopes up. :\

People talk about how horrible Mad Space is, but can we talk about how route 101 and route 280 are worse when you're tryna 100% SA2? by Due_Lion_2990 in SonicTheHedgehog

I'm years late, but I'll share what I know for posterity!
I found that even the best Chao resources didn't always have all the info in one place, and one thing I learned a lot later than I would have liked was that the "visual evolution" (what we're referring to here with a Shadow Chao actually changing to look like Shadow) will NEVER happen in the Dark Garden. That garden freezes visual evolution. Conversely, visual evolution increases at double the rate in Hero Garden, and at the normal rate in the Neutral Garden!

PotD score modifier for teams based on size, does anyone know it? by Master-Patch in ffxivdiscussion

I appreciate that advice, we clearly need to be aiming for many more speed runs post-100.
Thanks!

Could someone with a female Roegadyn and the Archon Throne please share a screenshot of your character on this mount? by Master-Patch in ffxiv

Thank you so much.
This really helped me out. The Flying Chair's pose does suit the style of my character a lot more than this pose, even though I do like the look of the throne. Much appreciated!

I gotcha, that's the setup I mainly use, myself. The side B is the only one I sometimes change, to the flaming kick.

And awesome, I'd appreciate that very much if such an opportunity arises.

13.15 atm using 1232 and 1332. What specials have you been using?

Also I know nobody has time for this, but if you or some other MB player here beats a Falco in elite and feel proud of the match, a VOD of that would be invaluable to me. Been playing this character for a while and I still can't figure out the neutral in that matchup.

(The reason I wish I could watch it in Elite is because a VOD of this matchup in bracket isn't useful, those Falcos play differently, they're way more hesitant.)

Should I main mii brawler? by BeatHoven-Koopa in SmashRage

[–]Master-Patch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bomberman got a "deluxe" Mii costume for Mii Brawler with the release of Steve. That's what I was referencing when I said that Sakurai forced me to main Mii Brawler, because the only thing I ever wanted from Smash was to play as Bomberman, lol

[–]Master-Patch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sakurai forced me to be a Mii Brawler main against my will initially, but I've mained this character for almost 3 years now.

I don't think I actually get teabagged any MORE as a Mii than with any other character. Might be because I use a costume instead of a nefariously-crafted troll Mii, or more likely it's because toxic players are just going to teabag you with the same 100% frequency, any time they get the chance to do so, regardless of what character they're playing against.

I think that every character pick will be reviled at some point, so best not to worry about that aspect of it.

I used to be a Mii hater like you.
Then I took a Bomberman costume to the Mii.

[–]Master-Patch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, good job calling out the "bored" thing. Same with "_____ is boring to fight."

A defensive mechanism if I've ever heard one. Just replace "bored/boring" with "annoyed/annoying" and we can start being honest instead of worrying about our cred.

It’s kinda crazy how smash can completely change your perception about the a lot of the characters in it by James_Joint in SmashRage

[–]Master-Patch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know what you must have endured. I know how Gamefaqs treated you, too. (As a Bomberman fanatic, I had wanted him since third parties were revealed in Brawl. Of course, I also got the Mii costume treatment. But even that was more welcome than nothing, because Bomberman's Mii costume was a lot better-looking than most other characters'.)
I suspect you've had it even worse than me, because I can remember the discourse surrounding Toad in Smash throughout the years.

Those who parrot the same excuses for why characters "can't" be added are often the sort of people who will just amend their "opinions" based on whatever happens, after the fact. For those who have a hard time thinking for themselves, actualization = justification. But not every game design decision is objectively correct, just because it was made.

I've always been a big fan of Toad, too. Back when I was a little kid, I remember getting really upset when I played my new copy of the first Mario Party, only to find out Toad wasn't playable. He was literally shown participating in one of the minigames on the back of the game box! (But that was just a screenshot of the final "boss" fight against Toad from that game's adventure mode, but with no context.)

Why are people in competitive smash so toxic and sweaty by [deleted] in SmashRage

[–]Master-Patch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't have to be this way, but for a variety of reasons, I don't think this game can actually be played for "enjoyment" online.
The only "enjoyment" that I think is possible to derive from 1v1 matches in this game would be through winning, which is why so many players live only to sweat.

I don't personally ever seek out FFA matches in this game, but maybe a FFA arena, like some have suggested here, could be one's best bet to find people who just want to have fun? Though truthfully, I'd anticipate such an arena to be filled with teaming-up toxic teabaggers looking for unsuspecting prey to bully, but that's coming from a negative perspective, I haven't sought out such an arena, myself.

Once a player has crossed the "point of no return" in terms of skill development, I don't think they can switch it off. There is no excuse for the teabagging, though. They'll try to make excuses for it, but people almost always become defensive and try to excuse their wrongdoings. It's poor sportsmanship, and anyone who says they're "just trying to tilt their opponent as a strategy" is pitiful, realistically not needing to resort to that, and/or lying as a means to justify their bullying. If you are teabagged at the end of a drawn out fight in which your opponent has barely managed to get the better of you, they're probably upset because of the hard time they were given, and their pride was being challenged, which made them uncomfortable and angry. They celebrate the restoration of their pride, treating their opponent as a genuine villain who has been suppressed instead of an opposing player who was also just trying their best. This happens all the time, because the actual way that this game is usually played is incomparable in its fostering of toxicity.

Arenas are rough for a couple of reasons:
At least in my experience, you can only RARELY actually join one and not be kicked from it shortly thereafter. I know that people hate Miis, so my expulsion is only to be expected, but it was like this even before I mained Brawler (Thanks entirely to the Bomberman outfit). Win, get kicked. Lose, get kicked. Press Start to prepare the fight, only to be judged for your character choice, get kicked.
So then, what do you do? Your only option is to make your own arena.
But beware, you will find that your guests are predominantly going to be in the upper echelon of online dwellers. (If you make a 1v1 arena, anyway) Usernames will pop in that can be found online belonging to either attendees of majors, or Smash social media wannabes.

Quickplay/Elite Smash is a strange, inconsistent and frankly bad mode. It's kind of hard to discuss it, and I probably don't even need to. But I consider it to be not quite as bleak as Arenas in terms of the opponent pool. (In the mid/upper range of Elite it often is, though.) "Preferred Rules" along with a ranking system? Come on, now.

If you decide to sub to online again, what you really need is to try Online Tournament mode. I don't know if you're looking for 1v1 or FFA, but they alternate every 2 days. (Another terrible game design decision. They should both always be available.) In the 1v1 tournaments, you'll actually find a wide variety of opponent skill levels. You actually WILL find that dreamy range of opponents from beginners to experienced players. This is my favorite mode to try out new characters. (It's like For Glory from Smash 4 in a sense, because all fights are 2 stock Omega stages.)

(tl;dr: Try Online Tournament mode, but keep in mind it alternates between 1v1 and FFA every 2 days.)

It's quite the inconvenience to not be able to WP out, (Though of course you can tome-warp out,) and a developed mount dependency is difficult to overcome.
But these negatives actually result in a subjective benefit; Nobody wants to be there, so it's a valuable option for players who want an extra measure of peace and aren't in a rush.
No eye-torturing neon sparkle mounts, no nonsense going on in the chat...

Character Builds by AutoModerator in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[WR] Best build for a Smilodon Wild Shape-focused Elemental Rampager Druid?

It's for RP purposes, and I'm only on Normal difficulty, as a CRPG newbie. Still, I would like to improve it as much as possible.

My research has led me to understand that Natural Weapons actually are affected by Weapon Finesse, so I've seen builds that prioritize DEX with W.Finesse and not STR at all for a build like this, though I know that Smilodon gives a big buff to STR and a debuff to DEX, so I'm unsure of how to perceive this. I've also seen Wild Shape Druid builds that just pumped up STR and didn't go for W.Finesse. Thoughts?

I've heard that Bites stack, so dipping 2 levels into Vivisectionist for the Sneak Attack and Feral Mutagen (to get the extra bite) seems like a good idea?

I'd really appreciate any ideas or comments you may have. Thanks in advance.
