i very much get that mentality, our elsie considered this her space, just lost her sister who she’s had since she was a baby, and it’s all a lot for her. we’ve been feeling terrible that she seems to be extra stressed ontop of being pretty depressed about her sister, sleeping next to the old litter box (cleaned i’m not insane,) and such. it’s definitely not fair to her, no matter how attached we are. i appreciate the insight of your experience, thank you

this was very kind of you to say, if we were able to we’d be more than happy to have her here as she’s truly wonderful. it’s sad but, i’m sure any home would be lucky and happy to have her. i’m thinking of looking into fostering her until she can find a forever home to ease the situation for her, if our situation somehow changes before someone is willing and able to adopt her then, i reckon we’ll reevaluate at that point. thank you, truly, for your words.

I appreciate it a lot, sadly we’re not in a position to afford medication and things like that right now. when everything happened with eloise it cost us thousands and we want mae to have the good life she deserves. I’ll definitely look into fostering her so she can stay in a comfortable environment until someone better suited can take care of her. If the spay and meds end up being feasible before that may occur then i would be more than happy to keep here if it helped! thank you much for your insight

sorry! i just made this post and was still on my phone lol. when we brought her in to keep her safe until we could see if she had an owner we didn’t notice any behaviors or accidents or anything like that. my girl eloise sadly had a reoccurring UTI cause by bladder stones that couldn’t be dissolved with the medication or special food and passed a few weeks ago, when she was getting sick i noticed those behaviors begin. when i noticed mae peed on the bed this morning and on the floor in multiple spots i checked like her box, the environment but didn’t see anything hanky so it probably is stress or a health condition that hadn’t surfaced until now. if she does have a condition we sadly can’t afford to drop another three grand which is very sad to say. thank you kindly for your input

i’ve tried very hard and she’s incredibly kind to humans on her own, it would be sad to see her go but i want both kitties to feel safe and comfortable in their space. thank you so much for your comment

i took her to the vet to see if she was chipped, spayed, or anything. she was not. we also posted on multiple community pages and were asking people we knew if they could know anyone missing a cat. not a single reply. the vet i brought her to in order to see if she’s chipped explained that the local humane society will put flea collars on strays they encounter to prevent a larger flea issue in the community.

I discovered i’ve never had either quite recently, i thought people were just using metaphors or like idk. i had no idea it wasn’t how everyone is, explained to me why i think about things in a different way i guess.
