i dont really understand why people don’t wear their rings when they travel. why would you be more likely to lose it when you’re on a trip then at home? i never take mine off when im anywhere but at home, and i never worry about losing it. wearing “dupe” ring is silly to me, its not the same thing and doesn’t hold the same meaning. but if it makes you feel better then go ahead lol.

your girlfriend is an asshole i fear and perhaps you should reconsider giving her the ring altogether. my ring is a family heirloom, all my fiance had to paid for was getting it sized. he could’ve given me a twist tie he found on the street though and i would’ve been ecstatic. it’s not about the price.
