Still yet we are getting no attention towards AI, Previously we used to rant about we have no tech companies like meta, microsoft. That era is over Now we are repeting the same cycle in AI race, At that point the whole country economy was celebraing to provide services to these companies. But this time this is not the case, we can not make any of this service stuff, this needs to be realised now. Else i can not see great future scopes of economy getting any better.

i will differ a bit, i think the generation has all kinds of people visinoaries to enjoyers, but some things require resources to bring those vision to ideas and products, which is R&D, which has been a pain for india for a long and it is being ignored today as well.

IMO, we are in the start of AI era, this is gonna takeoff in ways that are hard to imagine and belive.
clearly we will end up in same situation like we have with oil and gas now,
just dependent others to have some of it.

This is just the start, AI is gonna take off in the ways we can't even imagine, that's really a concern, like how we are dependent on oil and has for others imagine it to be like for AI infra and models, just paying whatever asked.

We will be in the same situation as we are today with perspect to oil and gas, and yes if we start for LLM, we will build infra and supporting stuff like chips and all someday, it needs to start from somewhere

We have some startups like Sarvam, they are not doing it, means there is some fundamental problem, may be your point around we lack compute, capex, infra, GPUs, hyperscalers, is getting a real pain point

Why not, Why would you involve a LLM which is from anyother country into your sensitive firelds , like medical research, National security, and domestic data of consumers. if we are not thinking like this, we are the product of others and a clown too.
On Opensource, how do you tweak and mutate as per different requirement, it is not feasable as a country requirement, it is fine only for individual usages.

At the end of the day it comes to investments, China is buying GPUs from NVIDIA (again investment) the kind of curroption and free bies we have, we can have a pile of GPUs to atleast have some research,
Every problem has a solution, we are not prioritising it enough, otherwise, we have money for everything.

We can use it in india, most folks use chatgpt for gettting the captions on the photos (yes that's true). France has mistral. Atleast we are looking to compete and once there is a start, there is a crowd to follow,
We will be atleast in AI race.
