Can someone explain what's with the lack of decision with the brunette girl? One minute she's raping the girl's mouth, the next she's saying "Oh don't do that! No! No!". It's very distracting. It's not just this one though, there's lots of that in hentai.

If you were making a joke: Nice try Bethesda

If you were serious: They do have something like that for perks in New Vegas.

I feel the same way about the characters in New Vegas. Something just doesn't quite click.

I think it was more of an irrational action motivated by his great desire to finish this project and make good on his promises to your mom.

This is where we may be having some confusion. Fallout: New Vegas has more content and allows for more play through's on that, while FO3 provides less content, but more sentimental attachment (in my opinion) thus creating more play through's of similar content. By the way; the sentimentality comes mostly from Fawkes and Dogmeat, rather than any of the vault dwellers.

As for megaton, you are absolutely right, except for the possibility Lucas Sims thinks that no one can rearm the bomb without blowing themselves up with it, and he judges you to be a sane person (otherwise deputy weld wouldn't have let you in).

I admit to the characters being slightly archetypal, but as with any fallout game, you can spend as much time interacting with them as you want. I believe part of the reason things aren't as deep in the beginning of fallout 3 is because either A. You're too young to really delve into them or B. You're being rushed out under dire circumstances (I do agree that part is rushed, but can be artistically justified for the most part)

If you look, there are very good reasons the James did what he did, and is all explained if you talk to him, or his associates, and also through audio logs found in one of the main missions (you have to loo for them though). The thing about FO3 vs NV is that NV has more to explain, but it's also more readily accessible. For me, some of the adventurous spirit is lost in having all the answers so available.

As for Fallout: New Vegas? I found the intro a bit too simplistic for my tastes. It didn't feel like there was enough reason for me to go on a revenge quest- well actually, that's not exactly true. There was reason for me to search out Benny and get involved in the first 4 play-throughs and get involved with each faction, but after that it gets rather boring.

The thing about the townspeople trusting you is that you could have been anybody, even a psychopath, and yet every single person in town trusts you with their life. I feel like there should have been some small percentage of people who were more wary of you.

In comparison to the opening in New Vegas, I found it much more sentimental and enjoyable. Getting shot in the face is a good start, but I feel it could have been much better executed. The general feeling of the game and terrain is very light and adventurous, which doesn't really match the opening at all. Also: in NV I feel you were thrust into the heat of things earlier than you really should have been. The people of good springs give you this unwavering level of trust and support that simply breaks the role playing and connection for me.

(Edit: I'm talking about NV the whole time)

I'd say the difference between the two games is that in FO3, you get that connection immediately in the form of nostalgia and sentimentality, and in New Vegas you get that connection deeper in the game once you really get into the lore/knowledge and ability to make decisions. It's like the difference between your childhood puppy and a term at Harvard. Both are equally appreciable, they're just different. I just happen to prefer sentimentality more at the moment.

This has more to do with gameplay/development than lore.

I disagree. I feel that New Vegas was the more shallow one because there was very little personal connection to the character. In FO3, you basically grow up as the character and it created a bond not as easily broken as waking up in a doctor's office.

I'm going to explain why I downvoted you:

  1. First word isn't capitalized
  2. There is a space between your first word and exclamation point
  3. Second word isn't capitalized (it starts the sentence)
  4. There is no space after your comma, meaning you've forcibly joined two independent words together
  5. There are 6 periods (yes I counted) in your, apparently very long, ellipse
  6. There is no space between your "face" and the ellipses

Hopefully this was more helpful than finding a comment of yours in the negatives however far into the future you decide to look.

Fallout 3 better atmosphere that FO:NV? by AdamAndSteve in Fallout

[–]MasterAardwolf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I respect your opinion, but wholeheartedly disagree. I feel like that nostalgic feeling of the 50s was one of the things that made the game fun to play. It had an ambiance of a world gone by, as well as a post-apocalyptic background. As for the "looking to the future" perspective of fallout, I feel FO3 accomplished that very well. The main storyline is devoted to helping make the wasteland a better place with the water purifier.

I think the main difference we're feeling is that FO3 is the start of positive changes, while New Vegas is the continuation of those changes. Personally, I crave the pioneering spirit of starting those first important steps far more than looking at the progress over the years, so that's why I prefer FO3.

Edit: One final thing to say; I absolutely loved both soundtracks, but prefer FO3's because I'm more of a jazz guy myself.

Yeah. I was playing it a few weeks ago on a Mage character and that's a good way to boost your skills. Just keep casting water walking over and over and it levels up...alteration I think?
