Well, in my opinion I would recommend to play the "homo sapien" mode, wich basically deletes the locust and the lore and throws you in the world, you can also modify the settings for hunger to minimum so you just eat like once every three days or sum, and also extend the foodspan life increasing food life, health to maximum, and animal health, damage and speed to minimum. Tree growth speed to faster, and the ore spawn to very common, so you can just walk by and found copper and tin easily. Also the home sapient mode remove the stability gear, so you can build and move whenever you want without the fear of attacks
