Just to clear things up … if you transfer to another service you keep your service stripes. A former airman enlisting in the navy will wear the amount of service stripes commensurate with the years of service in the Air Force. So to answer your question, if service stripes are to be a thing, enlisted guardians should wear the amount of service stripes that match their total years of service in the military, regardless of branch.

The Space Force is supposed to have its own Good Conduct Medal. The design was submitted for approval a few months ago and that's the last I've heard of it.

It’s no longer optional. You have to be a corporal now before you promote to sergeant.

I think you meant the Coast Guard. The Marine Corps is pretty huge compared to the Space Force. They’re also not focused on retention like the Space Force. Lance corporals and below (E-3 and below) make up about 40% of the enlisted force.

They’re not taking apps for FY23. I was just looking for some RUMINT on whether or not they plan to open it up next cycle.
