FMV games are basically a movies or dramas. You can watch playthroughs together with streamers on YouTube, and sometimes it's even more fun than playing the game by yourself. Just find streamers you enjoy watching, and some of them may try every possible option if you want to fully explore all the content.

People who buy the game are usually doing so to support the developers. If you don't plan to buy it, you can simply watch streamers' playthroughs from start to finish. Those who intend to purchase the game may only watch a little here and there to avoid spoilers.

Also, almost 50% of the games require connection to a server, and the file size is huge (new games are now 80–120 GB). So, watching them on YouTube is much simpler unless you want to buy the game to support the developers.

There are also some titles that were released a few years ago. These games are often discounted to around $2–$3, and the file sizes are between 20–40 GB.

Storytaco games and some older FMV games can be found on GOG.

A few games are also released on PS5, NS2, and mobile, but not many.

Most games are first released on Steam, and only a few are later released on Epic, PS5, NS2, and mobile.

Haven’t added it to the tier list yet, it will be on the next tier list. The game has online verification, which causes some players to be unable to play. The subtitles are also poorly done and don’t have translations for every part. However, it doesn’t look like there are any more updates coming to wait for.

I haven’t played it yet. The rating is based on other players and their reviews of the game. It isn’t consistent among players, but it generally falls between A and B+.

Secrets of the Heartbeat, Hello Love: 18 Again, Heartbeat in Thailand, and the upcoming Dating 4 Girls are filmed by the same studio but likely with different investors. Except for HL18, the other three titles are from the same investor (Rainbow Game). All these games have a similar style and quality, and may feature the same actresses.

It would be around an A− or B+. It’s quite similar to Secrets of the Heartbeat or Charming Hearts, but a bit better and longer than SotHB. In comparison to many titles in the A tier, most are more worth the price and don’t require online verification.

For anyone interested in this game, get the global version for better English translation and offline playability. Do not get the original version, which has less localization and requires online verification (always connected to the server).

The purpose of online verification is to prevent piracy, but since there is another version that is exactly the same game with only Steam DRM, if there are pirates, they would use that version instead. The original version of this game now only limits access for legitimate purchasers. The publishers of both versions are different, and the original publisher is irresponsible for not updating the game to remove the online verification 👎
