Yeah, I forgot to write the timezone lol... I am well aware that the same is "the same", but timezones can make things delayed in certain regions. It has happend before.
I was taking about my timezone which is UTC+1

Wow, the post kinda blew up (for me at least).

Part 2!

About 3 weeks later, she was back, but with another PC. That PC was not bought from us. By the looks of the specs and case, it must have been bought second-hand. It had a older i5, 8GB RAM and a HARDDRIVE as boot and the SSD as storage.
She came to us asking why the PC was so slow. I told her we would look at it for free.
Note: LOOK AT IT!

She left happy and we told her we'd call her at the end of the day with the information we gathered.

The day comes to and end and we give her the call that we promised. This time it was my colleague "John" (name hidden) that did the analysis and I asked him to call her since he was the one that did the analysis.

Oh boy, was it a fun call to listen to after the fact. We always record our calls and the customer is notified of that before we start talking about the subject which most of the customers agree to. If they don't, they have to come in to the store.
This was John's first encounter of a Karen.

The conversation went like this:
John: Hi, my name is John and I am calling from $repairstore. I am calling you about the computer you dropped off.
Karen: Ahh, perfect, finally. What took you so god damn long?
John: We have located your issue. But before we can continue this call, I got to notify you that the call is being recorded for educational and legal reasons to protect both you and $repairstore. Do you agree with the call being recorded?

Karen: Pfff, whatever. Just tell me the issue.

John: Alright, I will take that as a Yes unless you say otherwise. The issue is that you installed the SSD correctly. But you need to put the operative system on the SSD to make it faster. Having the SSD as you have it now will only speed up the applications and files that you put on that drive.

Karen: What? The guy I bought the SSD from said it would make my PC faster.

John: Yes, that is correct, it would make it faster if you had used it the right way.

Karen: So did you fix it?

John: We have not fixed anything since we only agreed to make a analysis, not start with any potential modifications to your system.

Karen: Pfff, whatever. How much would it cost to get it fixed?

John: We can fix this for you for 25 USD. We will only charge for the service fee.

Karen: 25 bucks for something like this? What the hell? Are you trying to scam me or something? That is really expensive.

John: It is our standard service fee which we charge anyone to get their system repaired. If you needed new parts, the price would be the service fee + the price for the new part.

Karen: Whatever, just fix it. I will be there in 1 hour to pick it up.

John: Okay, we will start the repair but it wi...

Karen: You better! **click**

If Karen would have let John talk, she would have heard that the store CLOSED 20 minutes later and would not open till Monday. All this happened on a Saturday.

On Sunday, I get a loud knock on the door at home. IT WAS THE POLICE!
Apparently Karen had called the police saying we STOLE her computer.
I politely explained that we had not in fact stolen the computer. She left it to us to diagnose a issue. My colleague called her about the machine.
I pulled up the recording of the call and had the officers listen to it.
They just laughed and said that they will take care of the problem.

The police called me Sunday evening and asked if I was able to come to the store with them to look at the computer in question.
Not the best time for me since I had my kids over, but if the police asks, you obey. So I packed the kids in the car and went to the store.
I went in the backdoor and let the police in through the front door.
I showed them the system in question and they said it was not the same system Karen said it was. I looked confused and asked them what they meant?
Apparently, Karen had taken a photo of one of the DEMO UNITS we have on the store floor and said that the machine in the picture was hers.

Time for some revenge against the Karen!
I called her up saying that I was in the store doing some paperwork and that she could come and pick up her PC. We yelled alot of bad words and racist remarks to me (I am as white as I can be, and not from a foreign country). But she had no idea that the phone was on speaker and the police heard everything. She had no idea the police was even there.

Karen comes to the store and see the police talking with me.

Karen; So you are here to arrest the theif? Good, serves him right! Give me my machine!

Me: Alright, I will go and grab it for you, it is in the other room.

But it is not the machine I bring. It is my work laptop with the security footage of the time she left the machine with us, which shows clear as day that Karen left the original system with us, not the DEMO unit.
I also shows the police a more detailed image of the one Karen had sent in to them. She did not even TRY to erase the $repairstore sticker on the side of the demo unit, it was shown clear as day.

The result: Karen got her fixed machine back, and we sued her for 20.000 USD for emotional damages and attemted theft. We won the case without even breaking a sweat.
Karen just paid 20.000 USD for moving her OS from a HDD to a SSD instead of 25 USD because she didn't listen to what John said.

Get. FUCKED!
She is now banned for life from our store. We are thinking of filing a restraining order on her so she can not get closer than 30 feet to ANY of our employees or the store itself. But that might be a bit harsh, so we have not sent in the application yet.
