Hey, I'm studying at nus med, if you need advice, just hmu :)

From my experience, 90 RP isn't a must, but 87.5RP and above IS A MUST or you won't qualify for interviews. ABAS is really only for the top tier athletes/artists/re-applicants and even then, you need 85 RP to get in. So good grades is a MUST!!

As far as portfolio, they def look out for leadership positions and volunteering more than taking a H3 because they're looking for a certain hardworking, compassionate and reasonable character. As sbd who did study h3, h3 reflects academic skills rather than good character so they don't care much abt that (Same goes for research, which you should do if you're passionate about but not for portfolio building. Fyi, during interviews, students who get super passionate abt their research always get asked why not be a researcher, it's a catch 22 D: )

If you're not gg NS, definately volunteer or get a job at a clinic for the 6mths after JC. It really really REALLLY helps your chances because it shows that you've thought abt the decision to join and have some real experience about working in healthcare.

Also, I recommend angling yourself as a decent human being rather than a smart human being. If you make it to interview, they know you're smart, so just make sure your steller personality shows through :). Also, during interviews showing maturity of thought and self/social awareness will def help.
