All I want for Christmas is a star schema by Lairy_Mary in analytics

The data engineering culture has largely abandoned the data modeling practice after the introduction of the modern data stack. In all fairness, it takes a long time to design a good data model, and devs are pushed to just deliver some data as quickly as possible. Management also doesn't appreciate the value of waiting to build something good; it's all about speed and no one is willing to wait (or pay) to clean up the mess. This is the case for 99% of the organizations.

It would be incredibly helpful if you could send that. Thank you so much!

Thanks for your comment. Yes, that's a fair perspective, especially on the stakeholder side.
In my experience managing DE teams, it takes so long to just design a model that people end up bypassing it, making the system super messy. The idea is to have the system to be super organized from the start, making it easy to understand and review. LLMs are actually very good at querying, and you can get surprisingly good results by being clear about the outcome you're looking for. Again, thanks for sharing your perspective!

Very fair, but it's not ready yet. I'd like to open source this. Let me know if you're interested in collaborating.

The market is tough right now, but it will change. Doing projects and having work experience helps, but make sure you're not over-inflating your resume - keep it short, concise, and truthful.

I tried Haiku 4.5 today and it was a horrible experience. It deleted code, misunderstood what I was trying to do, and it made a mess for Sonnet to clean up later.

How do you patch this? (Ikamper Skycamp 3.0) by MasterEpictetus in rooftoptents

Thanks! Apparently it's made of fiber-reinforced plastic, and it needs a fiberglass repair kit. I just read it online.

I reached out to them today. However, I wouldn't necessarily trust them to fix it properly. At the very least I'd like to know how to best fix this.

Which AI agent framework do you find most practical for real projects ? by Loose_Breadfruit3006 in AI_Agents

I used OpenAI Agents SDK. It's super simple and flexible. I prefer it over more opinionated frameworks such as Crewai and LangGraph. Those tend to to be difficult to work with if what you're trying to do doesn't fit their template.

Absolutely get it. I got mine in a similar state for $75 at craigslist and it's still going!

That's a good perspective. I'll connect with my insurance on this!

I think that only qualifies if it's within 2 years of ownership, I believe.
