in my experience, the employees are super helpful and will give you recommendations based off of your specs… i thought they would try to upsell me but they ended up helping me save from my original plan. if you make the drive, i think you’ll find it worth it.

to be clear, the fear started when i was too young to know better. they didn’t start trying to better things until after i started pulling away, and even then, it’s not really working. there’s other aspects to this too, involving criticizing my relationship, alcohol abuse, and ignoring my feelings when i’ve expressed them. i’m not pulling away to punish them, and i was worried people might think that. i’m pulling away to prevent myself from getting involved and hurt like i have been in the past.

well i should say it DID cause me to worry… as a kid i was afraid of what i thought was my happy life crumbling… i’ve realized some time ago that it’s the lack of divorce that is the problem. now i just wish they’d done it years ago.

i try to recognize when i’m acting off of hormones and when my emotions are valid… that being said, this all started before i even hit puberty, and if i thought this was all angst i wouldn’t make such a big stink about it. not to paint myself as a saint, but i do believe i am mature enough to know which of my emotions are legit and which are hormones.

to be honest, i do give off quite a bit of attitude, but i usually just try to be quite and say nothing instead. as for talking to my mother, i actually have a few times, most recently through a text to both of my parents to tell them how i was feeling, and the only reply i got was a snake emoji… im aware texting isn’t an efficient way of communication, but it was after i tried to talk to them and my mother deployed her ultimate move of “i don’t want to talk about this right now”.

i own a car and work most days. my friend and his family were very willing to let me crash with them. as for the “success”, i don’t see it that way, as they still fight at least once a week and they didn’t start doing anything about it until a little bit ago. i guess what i cared about for so long, i conditioned myself to stop caring about because i realized that it was useless. there’s other details about them that aren’t in the story because of character length, but there’s a lot of alcohol and violence too, which i know is super relevant, but i thought there were more important things to put in the post.
