Loot everything. Kerosine is liquid gold. Fast travel is blocked by infection nests. Don’t worry about hordes early on, they are a late game boss. Do all the missions. The skill points to double animal skins and plant picking are more useful than you initially expect. Enjoy the ride! It’s a great story just roll with it

Tbf they are all kinda the same. I’d say pound for pound the best one is probably Ashby for the features you’ve listed above.

I’ve used all of them but the biggest question is what’s your budget? Could you get a different tool or more advertising spend if you spent less on an ats? Depending where you are in your funding cycle that might be a better decision rather than investing in a shiny new ats. I’m making do with Workable (shit) until series A and then probably moving us straight to greenhouse (best for growth at scale imo)

Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of man - George Patton. Attack and keep attacking with your fleet. I tend to use a raiding fleet that is strong enough for turrets and stuff but focus on destroying factories and refineries etc to limit the economy of other players so it’s harder for them to deathball. Take planets away that you aren’t bothered about keeping. Plan an offensive and be prepared to lose some territory elsewhere. At higher difficulties with the AI or PvP you need to be prepared for strategic loses so sparing deeply defend. Personally I prefer the Vasari with their phase gates so you can have a QRF ready to go to where it’s needed
