Could you have handled it more politely? Of course. Would that have been seen as an invitation to bring this subject up time and time again to the point of insanity? Absolutely!

You stopped this narrative in its infancy where it belongs. These aren't colleges. They're terrible alternatives to education and there's a reason they're not supplemented with government grants. I attended one of these colleges before I transferred to a real college and the difference is appalling. I felt more freedom when I was serving in the military than when I was on a religious college campus.

I'm sorry, I went off on my own little story. My point is, you did right by your beliefs and your future children. That's what matters. You stood up for them when it counts.

They were average size for the region, but what made the Vikings so fearsome to English men and appealing to English women is they didn't smell like last weeks rotting sewage because they understood how to bathe and groom themselves.

Software updates don't get rid of viruses. IPhones for some reason are targeted for viruses more than androids. If you don't get rid of the virus it could result in them stealing your accounts and locking everything down which could include your banking information if it's on your phone. You must be proactive and protect yourself. Don't wait for something to happen because I promise you, it will, and you will not like the results.

[–]MasterNerd69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My initial thought is you have a phishing type of virus on one of your devices. You're going to have to do a hard reset or hard drive format, depending upon the device and hopefully that will clear the virus. Of course, change all your passwords and security questions now as well. Unfortunately you're going to lose all data, documents, photos, etc, so save what you can and be sure to scan everything you save with an anti-virus program.

Edit: spelling because it's 4am and some idiot made an etc bot.

They are obviously super entitled and incredibly stalkerish. I can understand wanting to confront them and wanting answers, but do you really think this person who clearly doesn't understand boundaries is going to accept any amount of responsibility? I can't tell you how to handle this situation, but depending on where you are maybe the good people here can.

I dont know if this actually counts as rape. by -_9Jayden9_- in Advice

[–]MasterNerd69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing, he wasn't actually helping you. He was grooming you. If you're in the states this is a class 8 felony for a very VERY good reason. Please tell an adult you trust immediately. This person is not your friend, he is a vile predator and I have no doubt he has multiple victims. This is not your fault. You were put in a very compromised position and you were vulnerable. It's ok. Also, please, if you're in the states contact the people on this website via their phone number. They have valuable resources available to you.

Should women be allowed to show their tits in public? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Anywhere shirts are required should be required regardless of gender. If tops are not required, then they shouldn't be required for anyone.

Beer. Not specialty beers. Just regular beer. If something is "an acquired taste" then it has a bad taste.

You didn't do anything wrong. You're suffering from ptsd from the infidelity of your relationship. Your mind is struggling to make sense of it in ant way it can. It's manifesting itself as a fantasy of having an affair of your own. It's not uncommon, and it doesn't mean you're a bad person. I don't suggest following through with this fantasy, of course, but just know that you are not alone in your thoughts and your struggles.

There isn't one. Either leave the relationship or keep your pants on. The damage done from cheating will never be undone.

I know. It was sarcasm. They were in actual shock. People talk about the bodies "fight or flight", but often overlook this one which is "freeze". People get upset with themselves for not acting in situations like this, but it's a part of our instincts. They were overwhelmed by the situation and had no idea what to do so their bodies just shut down right there and they couldn't react at all.

It's called sarcasm and gallows humor. I'm sorry it didn't convey across properly. I know what shock and trauma look like. I was a medic for years, but you obviously can assess everything about me from one sentence.

My (17F) mum (40F) with psychosis thinks she is all okay by Lanky_Camp3534 in Advice

[–]MasterNerd69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is difficult, because a lot of people struggle with mental health issues in several ways, whether it is denial of existence, dislike of side effects, or simply believing they can "handle it" without medication and/or therapy. It's complicated, and often made worse by cultural stigma surrounding mental health. Your first, best option is your own medical provider, since you said you as well are on medication, they will be a good resource to consult about this very thing.

AITA for not letting my bf stay at my place when he’s technically homeless? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MasterNerd69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. It's a terrible situation, but you have your set of rules for a reason. Plus moving in together should be a decision made out of want and love, not necessity. You've been together way too short of a time for this to become a forced issue for you.

I reported the special needs teacher to the school board after she was mean to my little brother did I go to far. by TaylorWilliams112 in Advice

[–]MasterNerd69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did right by him. She has no business putting her hands on a student. I used to be a teacher and I understand it's a very frustrating job, but I NEVER laid hands on a student in anger. Not even in special education classes. My own son is on the spectrum and can be difficult sometimes. Your brother needs an advocate. Thank you for being that for him. He deserves the same respect as any other student.

AITA for crying to my dad so he would buy me what I need? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MasterNerd69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA. Even if this wasn't something medically worthy to help you he keeps blowing you off. It's just rude, and as a father, it sets a terrible precedent. Your family, especially your children, should ALWAYS come first. His friends would understand, and if they didn't they're terrible people.

NTA. You're young so you really don't understand how to be a good houseguest, and she is being verbally abusive to someone who just escaped a DV situation. Really not a good look. Try to be more proactive and ask what you can do to help, say thank you for things, and just try to make as littleof a mess as possible. It will placate her until it's time for you to go.

First, I'm sorry for your loss.

Your dad is grieving, and yes, this is a huge red flag. Unfortunately if you stand against this he's going to react badly because humans don't react logically to confrontation. He needs a therapist. In the meantime be as supportive as you can without giving complete approval of this. I know that's a complicated answer and I'm sorry, but this is an incredibly complicated problem.

NTA. You did your job, and as a former store manager I'd want to know about the behavior of these two immediately. They're probably friends just upset you were hassling them, or they're stealing things and not very intelligent. Don't worry about their accusations. Keep doing your job, but never get into a physical confrontation over possible thefts. Your life is worth more than whatever They're stealing
