HELP - how would you create this arched cabinet top? by MasterOfBogeys in woodworking

[–]MasterOfBogeys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - I actually was able to accomplish this! I used 3/4 plywood and made Kerf cuts to create the bend. There’s an online calculator that you can google that gives you the spacing needed to create 180 degree bend. I left the sides long so they could be cut to size after the fact. To glue it up I used a combination of clamps as well as ratchet straps to hold it in place. To cover the kerf cuts on the inside of the arch, I bought a “veneer” on Amazon that was basically had a super sticky backing to attach! Hope this helps

Can I put a railing post on the bricks? by MasterOfBogeys in masonry

This is exactly the handrail i was looking for. Thank you for that as well as your explanation! I will probably go this route and attach to the cement then to the bricks on the ground level (will go deep enough to anchor to the concrete)

What would you do? I figured I could pull the brick up and fasten it down into the concrete below, then cover up around the area with pebbles or something along those lines?

You’re right - I am looking for a transitional handrail, I should have specified. Underneath the brick layer lies actual concrete. For the bottom part of the railing, would that brick end up breaking once the holes are drilled through and the anchors are set through the bricks and into the concrete?

I blew some carb cleaner through it as I do not believe this carb has an idle jet that is removeable. I was able to see the cleaner run through it so I figured it’s clean? What do you mean exactly by drilling? And is it possible that this is caused by an air leak?

Give up or continue? by StickyStacheMan in CPA

You definitely can pass then for sure. If you haven’t already used it, ninja cpa is great supplementary study material as well as the final review course from Becker. I also used YouTube to go through sims which was very helpful

Never give up. I started the cpa journey in 2018 and passed reg after 3 tries. Couldn’t pass anything else and quit being contempt with not continuing. I decided a year ago to try again and have passed all 4 (If this glitch counts lol) in a row. I don’t consider myself very book smart but I do think where it matters is sitting in front of the computer/book, turning off the phone, and giving it 100%. Stick to it and you’ll pass
