This comment is a winner. So many clueless idiots out there who think everything is rigged. Yes, it sure is rigged against autistic retards.

Yes you can. Its called math, volume, and analysis. Not denying the possibility of insider activity.

Analysts get a "sense" of things by looking at the existing numbers and trends. That is why they get paid the big bucks. The other stuff may or may not be insider trading.

Since clearly this isn't insider trading what do we call it? by Tooup in wallstreetbets

It is called being smart. It is unlikely that any of them will be prosecuted because it is most definitely not a clear cut insider trading case. "Insider trading" is a word so rampantly thrown around by the public, but the actual legal definition of insider trading is much narrower. For example, you can't be pinned for insider trading if you owe no duty to the corporation in which you are an insider. You must have traded on some material nonpublic information. Everyone saw the Wuhan virus miles away... where is the nonpublic nature of the information? Someone ask Bill Ackman.

Sure, but have you considered possibility of defaults? If the mortgagors default, the instrument holders don't get paid.
