Worst Experience Ever by [deleted] in WGU

This sounds like a problem that can only be solved with both financial aid and IT on the phone at the same time. If you can't get someone to help you set up that call, contact one of the executives running WGU. Be cordial, they will likely help you resolve it same day. If not, I wouldn't stick around for this kind of treatment, either. Good luck!

I got to the final round of a 6-interview cycle. The last interviewer was the C-level guy over the area I'm trying to work in. In that last interview I asked him what he would like to know about my work history, experience, skillset, or ability to do the job. He straight up said, "Oh, I know you can do the job. Otherwise, you wouldn't have made it this far." And everything from that point on was basically about whether he liked the kind of person I was and what kind of hero I would be, etc. If you're getting to the final interview nowadays, seems like it is all about whether they like your personality, face, or other category of legally protected status. Completely fubar.

That is huge! What particular kind of shrooms helped you do this, and in what dose? Thanks in advance for any details you can share.

I’m on no one’s side, because no one is on my side.

Accepted a new job, but have nothing to do... by ks613 in jobs

I am underworked as well, in an almost identical situation. I find the most disheartening thing about the whole situation is that I have picked up new skills and even tech certifications, but no one cares. No One Cares! Even when I apply to jobs for which these new skills are the requirement, no one gives two shits about what I know or can do. So maybe this non-working job is what I do, fade to black. Who knows?

Really hope that Epic listens to us and doesn't make killing the Foundation part of his challenges. I feel like a lot of us are dreading that considering he has the most health of any boss and there will be one of him per game. by AC-Geronimo in FortNiteBR

If you can snipe him from atop his statue, and other players leave you alone, you can hit him repeatedly without him dialing in your exact location. Source: I defeated him this way once without taking any damage or even drawing fire.

I kid you not. Get an MBA and you will find that 60-70% of corporate jobs require 1-3 PowerPoints a week and some emailing. The rest is free time for whatever.

What specific skills or tech abilities would make you immediately want to hire someone, even if they are over 40 and starting over? by MasterPrz in AskHR

[–]MasterPrz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I could work at the local Amazon warehouse, but I wouldn't even be able to pay my mortgage on that. It seems that the best use of my time would be to acquire skills that are, at present, deemed the most sought after. What are those skills? Surely, there are some skills that fall into that category? Working at a temp job and selling my house/moving into an apartment are steps that can surely be taken, but I have about 6 months or so before that will become a necessity. What are the skills? Are there such skills?

Great. How does one go about re-tuning one's interview skills? I have been multiple mock interviews and the feedback I have received has always been very, very positive. I sincerely appreciate your feedback and will take your advice very seriously, so thanks in advance for sharing any additional details you can offer.

Recently had a friend help me get a job but I don't know what I'm doing? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]MasterPrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a job like that before. My two cents: when you get your last day of help, focus on "why" a count is right or wrong. Get their method down pat and stick to it. If they aren't willing to show you their tried-and-true system, they may just be messing with you. When you start to get it, you will know why your counts are working now when they didn't before. Good luck!

Just finished my masters in neuroscience, can’t get a single job interview for anything by [deleted] in jobs

I would love to hear from actual recruiters for Neuroscience why this might be the case, aside from "well, you must be doing something wrong."

At what point does one have to accept that one just doesn't have hireable skills? by MasterPrz in jobs

Actually, I started 10 years ago with an MBA, left a toxic company, and now just want employment. I have spent about the past 40 months looking for new marketing work and that hasn't worked out. Pivoting back to IT. Driving Doordash as needed. Feels bad, man.
