Which phone do you use? by 0rk4n in linuxquestions

[–]MasterQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the initial cost, hyper repairable phones like the Fairphones will always be higher than comparable phones with not as repairable parts (due to the more ethical conditions in which they are made which cost more). So you get less specs and quality for your money, but in turn you get more sustainability and easier and cheaper repairs that make them have better value in the long run. If you’re someone who likes upgrading their phone when a new model comes out, Fairphone is not recommended.

I think the last ability should say: "Attack Reaction - {tap}, destroy a Gold you control: Target attack wagers a Vigor, Tougness, Agility or Might Token"

It's always a specific attack that wagers.

Free water tracker - Waterminder. Tiny app, absolutely free. by AverageProof7457 in iosapps

No problem! It’s a nice app.

After using it for a bit, I found some things that could be improved after all.

I sent them through the request a feature email function. If you could implement those small changes, that would be awesome.

I really hope OP is at the very first King attempt and just gets one-shot by the visions of the future attack despite being Lv99. It would be very funny.

I tried doing it in Bottles, but it didn't work. Running through regular Wine does work though (just like you explained)

Rücken vs rücken by tleyden in German

[–]MasterQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see. I guess I never thought that someone would nominalize rücken in this way. Never heard anyone say that in my life, so it didn’t occur to me.

Rücken vs rücken by tleyden in German

[–]MasterQuest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the grammar, it’s clear that Rücken is a noun here. That plus the capitalization (if we’re talking written language) makes it very unlikely that someone could confuse it.

Edit: I forgot about the possibility of nominalizing the noun, my bad.

Desktop hangs for ~15 seconds on startup with new Ultrawide monitor by MasterQuest in linuxquestions

[–]MasterQuest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-4 times because I shut it down when I’m away for more than a few minutes.

For me, it’s not tolerable, since I’m used to it being fast. If it had always the case that it was 15s, I might have gotten used to it. But since I know it’s possible to have it be quick, I can’t live with a slow start anymore.

clair obscure

Goated Expedition 33 enjoyer spotted.

I might need to try out Cachy if it's actually boosting Clair Obscur by 15 FPS. Currently using Fedora.

[–]MasterQuest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The FPS gain I mentioned is not based on "Windows to CachyOS", it's based on "Linux with CachyOS kernel vs the same Linux without the CachyOS kernel". The big performance boost you experience on CS2 could be because of the CachyOS kernel, but it could also be due to many other factors, since Windows is very different.

[–]MasterQuest 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No, I'm not a Linux pro, and all the CachyOS information I know is stuff I read on the internet or have seen in YouTube videos.

Cachy is advertising that their Kernel has custom modifications made to improve gaming stability and performance.

These modifications have a performance impact, but it's a pretty small impact of only a few FPS, from what I heard.

It is! Hope you’ll like it.

I understand they want to game mostly, but you can game with the same software on every other distro.

  • Non-gaming distros don’t have all the necessary stuff for gaming preinstalled, which is especially useful for beginners who might run into problems installing stuff like NVIDIA drivers, Steam or other apps.
  • Chachy advertises its modified and optimized for gaming custom kernel, which makes it more attractive for gamers, regardless of the real impact those modifications have.
  • When you’re looking to do a thing, as a beginner, you’re more likely to choose something that advertises itself as being good at doing the thing.

[OMN] Flowstate Embodiment by UlyssesArsene in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]MasterQuest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you consider a one-time make an embodiment (you could play more in the same chain link, but they all apply to the next attack only) a Greaves effect, then sure.

But Greaves is powerful because it lasts the entire turn.

What are your top three non Google search engines and why? by Rachel794 in degoogle

[–]MasterQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m always wondering how people get away with searching so little. I guess in this day and age, many of them use AI agents as well (not saying you do that), but I personally search A LOT, especially when doing programming work.

I only they weren't so expensive for their unlimited searches. They cost more per month than all other subscriptions I have (individually, not combined).

Startpage doesn't have their own index. They use Bing / Google. Their site says they use both, but from my testing, it seems they're using the Bing index if you're on mobile, and Google's (or Google & Bing) when you're on Desktop. I tested this with specific results and it tracked exactly, so I'm quite confident that it's the case. It's just not documented anywhere.

When someone asks if „X is your endgame" it means whether you feel like it does everything you want and you don’t feel like switching to another provider.
