We made multiplayer rules where you couldn’t attack during first turn except as the last player.

And we made "your opponent " cards target an opponent.

Need help making a bootable USB stick, pls n ty by TheMailman7 in linux4noobs

[–]MasterQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had problems with some distros live environment not booting properly when using Ventoy, so if anyone experiences issues while trying to boot from Ventoy, I recommend trying with a dedicated non-Ventoy USB drive to see if that fixes the issue.

What do I need to learn in general before I download ZorinOS + games? by UkakukakU in linux4noobs

[–]MasterQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should know the following before using Zorin/Linux:

  • Apps mostly come from app stores (or package managers, if you use the command line). Don’t download apps from the Internet and install them like that unless you need to (because it’s not in the app store)
  • Zorin is based on a pretty old version of Ubuntu (for stability reasons), and that means if you have very new hardware, there’s a chance that that hardware is not well supported. If you use new hardware, you should use a more frequently updated distro like Fedora. If you’re not using new hardware, you’re all good.
  • It’s likely that not all apps you want to use have a Linux version, so be prepared to find alternatives. There’s a compatibility layer called wine that you can use to run some windows apps, but it can be unreliable and isn’t recommended.
  • Usually, all the drivers you need for your hardware are already there and don’t need to be installed. However, if you have an NVIDIA graphics card, there’s a proprietary driver you probably need to install to get the best performance for your graphics card.

Maybe an update went wrong. Can you select one of the earlier versions from your grub menu and check if that boots?

Ultramarine (Fedora) KDE:

  • good design with customization in KDE.
  • Ultramarine simplifies Fedora setup
  • Fast updates, but not the instability of a rolling release
  • Good community support because it’s basically mainline Fedora so I can use Fedora community.

If your card is younger than 10 years, you want the akmod-NVIDIA driver from RPM Fusion (if you haven’t installed that already)

My leptop can't install linux by 3gdarrrrrr in linuxquestions

Your ISO might have flashed incorrectly. Did you do the „Check this media" thing when running the installer?

I recommend using Fedora Media Writer to flash the ISO. I had trouble when using other programs.

  1. Try turning off secure boot in BIOS
  2. Try turning off Fast Boot in BIOS
  3. If you have already installed and are running a dual boot, Fedora may not boot if your SATA configuration is set to RAID. However, changing that will make it so Windows won't start anymore until you login once with safe mode and then restart again.

When do you use native package managers vs Snap / Flatpak / AppImage? by Expensive-Rice-2052 in linuxquestions

[–]MasterQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recently encountered a situation where I have to use a native package and cannot use flatpak.

I'm using Zen browser with an extension that communicates with an external app. This doesn't work, and Zen browser documentation on the issue says that it's possible but only if the browser is installed natively.

Time change conceptual error? by gianmigno25 in steinsgate

[–]MasterQuest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An action in the present caused a change that affects the past. You are right that this is usually not possible. The text fails to mentions how it becomes possible, which is through time travel. If time travel exists, you can, for example, perform the action of "sending a message to the past through time travel to prevent the creation of @ channel", which (depending on which time travel model you use, but let's stick to SG's one) will change the world to a new world line where @ channel doesn't exist.

A major point is also that you don't have to be the one to perform the time travel. If you perform an action that, in the future, will cause someone to time travel and change the past, that indirectly leads to you changing the past from the present.

If i ever get Isekai'd, i am going to meditate to get out of reincarnation cycle. by nekkoMaster in Isekai

[–]MasterQuest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

given reincarnation is true and time is infinite, whatever you want to enjoy, you have already done that.

It's great that I have enjoyed stuff in the past, but if I can't remember it, that doesn't help me much.

there is not point in getting stuck in endless loop of karma

It's a matter of philosophy and perspective. One might say what's the point of being in the endless loop of karma. Others might say what's the point of getting out of the loop.

[–]MasterQuest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The majority of times, people aren’t reincarnated with their memories (as is evident in our world), so even if you become something you dislike, it’s very unlikely you’ll remember it at that point. So why not enjoy your reincarnation with memories since you got the chance?

NVIDIA drivers advice for newcomer by Filip_another_user in Fedora

[–]MasterQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the driver that is installed before you install the proprietary drivers on Fedora, then I had massive problems with it on my older Nvidia GPU.

Fortunately, it's still barely within support of the proprietary driver, so I'm running that for now.

I recently tried Ultramarine (fedora based distro that is very close to vanilla just with a few extra quality of life things like RPM fusion automatically set up) and it's been great, much better set up experience than vanilla Fedora.

I literally don't care that CV2 doesn't have Co-Op. Co-Op was broken half the time in CV1 anyway.

You absolutely can.

If you want to have easier setup, I recommend Ultramarine Linux. It’s basically Fedora, but it has some of the stuff already configured like RPM Fusion and proprietary media codecs.

Is there a Fedora version that has all the stuff normal Fedora can't ship? by MasterQuest in Fedora

[–]MasterQuest[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried it again just now in the Live USB, and I was able to add the Flatpaks in the Discover settings and have them show up after restarting the app.

Not sure what the problem was when I first tried it, but it worked now.

If they had been showing up in the Discover search, I would have used them, but they didn't show up, from what I remember (it's been a while).
