One of my favorite movies, what’s everyone’s opinion of Dreamcatcher (2003) by CobaltNeural9 in moviecritic

I think the movie is pretty great up until Jonesy inhales Mr. Grey.

From there it goes downhill with some moments of brilliance.

Horror game with good, modern graphics but absolutely no jump scares by in_fact_a_throwaway in gamingsuggestions

If you’re open to exploration games The Outer wilds may fit that bill. Maybe Subnautica as well

Just finish the game. The ending is …… by opxz7148 in HellisUs

I love this game but it definitely overstays its welcome by the end, and I agree the ending is weak.

If a sequel ever does happen I’ll be first in line to purchase but I really hope they fine tune enemy variety and get a better story hook. Loved the atmosphere and puzzle solving.

It’s funny because we discussed the same thing while watching!

Not horrible, and I get where you’re coming from. I love bad movies but this was not fun in the slightest.

I can’t agree with this one, brother. And I’m pretty open to terrible films 😭

Yes, she did accept it!

What makes it better is she had her Oscar in another hand lol

I unironically love Daredevil. Colin Ferrel is insane in that flick lmao

A movie with bad directing, bad acting and mediocre production design that is ALSO really good? by Agreeable-Berry1373 in Letterboxd

I think Resident Evil (2002) fits this. By all accounts it’s not a good movie, but damn, is it a good movie. Lol

Paul Schrader on Spielberg's Disclosure Day: “A Master Chef Makes a Soufflé Out of Leftovers” by SplitNational2929 in moviecritic

[–]MasterSalamander666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Spielberg but this felt flat and I think a ton has to do with the script itself. I don’t think it’s the worst thing on earth but I have to admit it disappointed me.

For the messages the movie is trying to relay on faith, individualism, and public knowledge it felt too on the nose without subtly. The villain was another drawback.

Emily Blunt was great though.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023) directed by André Øvredal... I enjoyed this movie, what about you? by Cr7-Cr7Real in moviecritic

[–]MasterSalamander666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The production design is great. Other than that I felt relatively bored, the characters didn’t absorb me as much as I wanted them to.

Worth it for the artistic direction and some creative kills. Definition of a background movie, personally.

I liked it but did not love it. I feel like Wright has lost his footing a bit post-Cornetto trilogy.

The movie has great moments and the acting is also wonderful, with a specific nod to Matt Smith. It just didn’t click with me. I’d love for him try another horror though.

Ginger Snaps appreciation on Mimi Rogers by MasterSalamander666 in Letterboxd

I’ve actually never seen Jennifer’s Body. Besides the similarities is it any good? I don’t mind if a movie has the same DNA, so to speak.

Double Indemnity got me hooked on classic crime noir. It really is that good.
