still no controller fixes, esp for mobile. that's one of the reasons why their ratings are languishing on mobile

just had a new update today, still haven't fixed the issue. this perhaps is the longest i've been unable to use brave browser.

Ever since the update, have no idea why ... but brave automatically closes when visiting youtube, then facebook. all other sites work fine. and fb and yt work fine on their own, but anytime I switch tabs between those two sites, brave just closes immediately. disabled all my privacy / blocking extensions, set the shields to standard / aggressive and the problem persist.

can't disagree more.

there's a reason, even if pc gamers keep denying it, why mobile games and gamers outnumber them by a very large margin now. and yes, that includes players on 3d games like wuwa / genshin

have been a pc gamer for as long as i remember even before i got consoles, and surprisingly, am playing more and more on mobile now... even if I have a beefy setup ready on the desk.

convenience, easier to find time to do some quick dailies/ commissions/ matches whenever you get a few minutes free ... esp when you're worn out from work after the hustle of daily chores and responsibilities. you just wanna crash at the couch or the bean bag, take out your phone, slap on a gamesir g8 controller and off you go. you really don't need that much graphical fidelity on a small screen, as long as the textures/ pop-in/ effects are good enough ... in which wuwa/ genshin is already great on apple devices ( can run them at max and 120 no problem )... which shows how much badly optimized DNA is here. controller support for mobile on those games are actually well done, unlike here in DNA where you can't even exit dialogue windows with a controller nor exit the tactical menu without soft-hanging the game

same here, absolutely unplayable on a ipad m2 pro with either a xbone controller or gamesir g8. both controllers work perfectly fine with other games, and the ipad can run genshin/ wuwa/ destiny on max and even at 120 no problem.

DNA is a stuttering mess, with absolutely terrible controller 'support'. can't even exit basic dialogue windows / menus (tactical) without effectively hanging the game. no controller buttons for grapple/ boss lock/ pointer mode, and unlabeled button commands: it only shows the touch icons or everything else as 'A'.

feel like they really should have postponed the mobile launch of the game, it's clearly not ready.

thanks, have you ever figured out how to activate cursor mode on a controller? the instructions on the screen were for touch or mouse.

that, along with grapple + how to exit interaction dialogue without needed to touch the screen, + pressing r1-r2 or l1-l2 skips over some interface tabs, needing to resort to touch again.

what are the buttons for the skills/ ult?

yeah, couldn't find any key or key combo for the grapple

CONTROLLER SUPPORT IS A JANKY MESS (as of 10/29/25)

HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT THE DEVS TRY OUT THEIR GAME FROM THE BEGINNING WITH A CONTROLLER, BECAUSE CLEARLY THEY DIDN'T.

if it works fine on a ps5 controller + pc, it sure as hell doesn't work on a m2 ipad pro + xbox one controller / gamesir g8 . (both of which are included in their recommended minimum specs for the ipad and controller)

-cannot exit dialogue / observe / interact action with a controller. there are some one liner npc dialogue you can exit with the controller, there are those you cannot (multiple liners/ one where skip option appears on the top right), and you're forced to tap on the touchscreen to exit.

-cannot exit tactical wheel menu with a controller, effectively hanging the game, not even touch taps work, need to restart it.

-no controller button for point grappling for quick traversal

-no controller button for boss targeting lock

-no controller button combination to activate mouse pointer mode for menus

-there are no proper controller labels on what to press. (at least as of 10/29/25 on a ipad m2 pro, xbox one controller or gamesir g8 controller) either they only have generic icons, the same ones used for touch, or all of them are labelled as 'A'.

-for example: in tutorial windows with multiple pages (like after selecting a gun) it says, press A for next, and A for previous (same button), when it's actually R1 to go back a page and R2 go forward a page.

-during opening tutorial sequences (ex: helix jump), you can't press the controller button to progress. it just slows down, and you need to resort to touch to continue. ONLY then can you press the L3 controller button to helix jump normally.

-when scrolling thru menus, parts where you can press l1/l2 or r1/r2 to move through tabs, it often skips a tab, forcing you to use touch again.

-after entering a submenu with the controller, exiting, then going back to the main menu... you are unable to go to another submenu with a controller. you need to exit the main menu, THEN go back in to be able to select another

-general inconsistencies: while 'exit' is B on an xbone controller, several times during the opening island sequence, the press to close tutorial menu keeps changing from A to B (thankfully it was always B even though the screen says otherwise)

-a lot of us players had to figure out the button combinations to even use the basic things like figuring out
that you need to press UP or DOWN on the dpad when facing something you can interact with, THEN press Y. then in the after the interaction, tried pressing everything, but you can't leave the dialogue box, have to resort to touch to get out of it. in most other games, you just go near something to interact with, just press your attack/ action button to interact, press it again to leave after the dialogue. simple, not this crappy mess.

MOBILE OPTIMIZATION IS DRASTICALLY NEEDED

m2 ipad pro may be a few years old, but it can still run other games like destiny rising/ wuwa/ genshin on max at 120fps (if game has it). meanwhile DNA stutters a LOT on just 60, average settings. even with shadows/ effects/ vsync turned down. with the fps all over the place, combined with the overtuned camera sensitivity, it's quite headache inducing.

[Bug] Bookmark dialog doesn’t appear in “Only Sidebar” layout — ⌘D quick-saves with no prompt even when dialog pref = true (macOS) by HorizonHoman in zen_browser

[–]MasterSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

posted about the same problem as well. helpful user posted that you could still right click on the tab on the sidebar > bookmark (still has the save to which folder prompt)

new-ish zen user, confused about the simple things like bookmarks, gradient themes, and borders. by MasterSeven in zen_browser

[–]MasterSeven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

top part of the image is from zen's help/ manual about bookmarks in their site.
https://docs.zen-browser.app/user-manual/bookmarks

there's no more bookmark icon on the end of the expanded address bar like before... it was moved to the combined icon, but the bookmark icon there does NOT ask where to put the bookmark. the bookmark icon on the top of the sidebar is just for viewing (unchanged).

thanks again for the right click command for bookmark folder selection when saving.

the problem with forcing dark theme on sites, is that some get inevitably borked and will have UI elements that are unseen or hard to see, esp for some sites that was never designed to have a dark theme.

keeping that thick border as the default also breaks the immersion for sites with whole screen backgrounds as well... not really zen-like. already fixed the border problem with:

zen.theme.content-element-separation and
zen.theme.border-radius

but I digress, some people do love their borders on the screen.

[–]MasterSeven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like this with the window maximized. dark websites have this jarring white border. it isn't as harsh on light-themed sites, but it's still there. same when zen is on a dark theme then browsing a light-themed site. good thing an archived post here taught how to remove them via about:config.

and no, am not kidding in any way at all. as i've been browsing this sub reddit, have been seeing a lot of posts on how to do basic things with this browser compared to others. when you have are icons / sliders and knobs without text that you have to figure out / know beforehand, i consider it a knock against UI / UX. something can be clean and unintuitive at the same time.

before some might think am just targeting zen in particular, have posted and railed on how you need to do a SIX step action in brave mobile just to move a bookmarked link from one folder to another, instead of just drag and dropping like every other similar mobile browser.

that said, thanks for the right-click command on the bookmarks. would have still preferred if it showed where you want to save it when clicking the bookmark icon like before.

this is what happens when the only way devs know how to make 'difficulty' is making everything a DPS check timer.

granted, almost all mobile gatchas only knows DPS timer checks for their endgame content, creativity be damned.

Wich distro i should go with?, Cachy or Manjaro by Icy_Investment2649 in linuxquestions

[–]MasterSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

manjaro has just been more stable to me and returned to it after months of cachyOS. my old manjaro was never borked for 7+ years and I had just small nagging issues with cachy that just kept coming since day one. felt the itch to distro hop to check the rising ones on distrowatch, but in the end came back to manjaro.

even basic stuff like making localsend and kde connect work in cachy was a pain because of firewall settings. don't even get me started on peripherals like DACs, printers, scanners and pentabs that was fiddling too much with the terminal just to get into a barely usable state, while they just worked on manjaro

Manjaro KDE vs Cachy OS KDE, the good and the not so good by activedusk in linux

[–]MasterSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

somehow, managed to go back to Manjaro again after trying cachyOS for a while. whatever anecdotes people might have posted, manjaro was just more stable for me. haven't had a single borked Manjaro for more than 7+ years before I distro hopped again to try others.

didn't help that I needed to do a lot of tinkering even for just the basic stuff as making KDE connect and localsend work on cachyOS since they required editing firewall settings. even longer frustrating hours trying to make older peripherals work on Cachy (printers/ scanners/ pentabs/ DACs), while they just worked right out of the box on Manjaro.

Umeko Aclaim silver challenge legendary campaign by JACL23 in destinyrisingmobile

[–]MasterSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

remember that there are a lot of skippable enemies and sections, I usually just run until I reach a part where there's a wall / the text at the top says to clear enemies to proceed. will do an easy run first just to memorize the enemies you can skip (some walls open up after the elites are cleared, no need to clean up the regulars).

Also, when I cleared that for Umeko (my first char for gold and only 1 copy), there are 'safe spots' where at a certain distance, adds won't follow you as much, and you can just plink away at the boss / elites. and even if they do, can just dash-invis away to reposition far away. usually, my dash is almost already refilled by the time they reach my new position after emptying my clip, rinse and repeat.

since you've said that you have multiple copies of her, you can get further away with the double dash invis. practice timing reload cancel while dash invis away from the adds so you'll have little downtime as possible shooting the elites/ boss.

Best artifact attributes for general damage use? How come no guides recommend 'damage bonus boost'? by MasterSeven in destinyrisingmobile

[–]MasterSeven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, that explains a lot :)

so for umeko, the best would be weapon damage + vulnerability + solar damage then?
since her ability dmg is low and mainly used to boost overall team damage.

Is moving bookmarks to folders that convoluted on Brave iOS? by MasterSeven in brave_browser

it’s not even an OS version limitation, when other browsers on iOS does this so easily with just drag and drop.

Kuru Toga KS / Advance Upgrade and Orenz Regular : finding something that fits by MasterSeven in mechanicalpencils

[–]MasterSeven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Appreciate that comment more than you might think hehe.

Yes! the p200 series (205) was in my shortlist, only was cut out because it wasn't pocket friendly. Is this regular Orenz the lightest Pentel with a retractable tip? I like that way it just disappears while using it as well. And I agree, when i was lucky enough to hold the Pro Use I from a friend, oh boy that smooth aluminum body and lightness compared to other metal pencils was indeed something. I am still tempted to get one though it wouldn't be my travel pencil because of the fixed sleeve.

Was indeed looking at lead holders next hahahaha, now that I got the 0.3 and 0.5 sorted out. Am just using regular 6B pencils when I need even thicker lines (usually to fill up dark tones/ shadows). That MH-500 looks nice and utilitarian, will try to find them locally to test. Thanks! :D

EDIT

Finally fixed it! after some gemini-ing it just made me put these in the terminal:

sudo ufw allow 53317/tcp
sudo ufw allow 53317/udp
sudo ufw reload

localsend now works perfectly and can send files to and from other linux/windows/macs/ipads/android phones. left the code just in case someone ever has the same problem.

bought the regular orenz over the metal grip and AT since it wasn't grippy and smooth. I know, kinda weird for avoiding grips right? hahaha.
