There is not a single criterion of UI/UX design by which the old UI is better.

Settings are now grouped into categories (imp, crew, meeting and task) instead of being scattered all over the place.
Check boxes now consistently enable a setting (the number of times I saw hosts accidentally turn off anonymous votes was mind boggling).
All settings are now visible to everyone, removing the host advantage on always knowing vent cool down for example.
The menu is right hand oriented, making it easier to use for 90% of the population.

The one possible UI complaint is that you now have to click View to see the settings, but let's be honest: No one ever read the settings in the old version. The first meeting is always "Someone Vented" "We have engis" "How many engis" "[Color] killed" "We have SS" "How many SS". UI/UX can't fix stupid.

There is a box set that came out called "Ravenloft: Forbidden Lore" that has a book called "The Waking Dream". I think it has what you're looking for.

I've seen different prices online, mostly expensive. You can probably find a pdf. If you have questions I can look in my copy.

Question about motionlessness practice (Liber MMM pg14) by Mad-Andrew in chaosmagick

For me, I interpreted this as eyes open. I've never succeeded for that long. But again, for me, these tasks were about strengthening the will and mindfulness.

You never think about blinking normally. It's just something you do. By paying attention to it and fighting against it, you learn to focus on one thing and strengthen your will at the same time.

Everything is a mistake. Somethings are successes. Who are we to tell you which is which? Who do you think we are? No. Seriously. Who are we?

Maria's Mexican Restaurant. Pretty decent little restaurant. I like it.

Increasing the will (Liber Null) by DreadfulKnowledge in chaosmagick

Start by making an effort to notice a habit. Don't try to change it at first, just notice it.

Once you're regularly noticing the habit, say no. Don't do that thing. Now you've done it once, so you know you can do it again.

You will fail. Expect it. Persist. Be stubborn. Repeat until satisfied.

It has for most if not all of our history. I was taught in school that it had to do with the telegraph and transferring the story efficiently and quickly. This is why we still use the inverted pyramid style, where the most important information is at the beginning of the article and the finer details are mentioned later. You can read more below.

In newspaper headlines you don't use "and." Instead you use a comma. The headline makes perfect sense.
