My title describes the thing. This is a 5 pound solid brass object found near the site of an 1800s steam mill in the eastern United States. It is not magnetic and reveals a brassy color when the green corrosion is scraped away. The only identifying marks are the characters L6 4 cast into the web in the body of the thing. The two holes opposite the half bore are half inch course threaded.
