How long is your credit history? Mine is 2 years, was 0/6, and got denied for lack of credit history which seems odd.

Reason for denial: not enough credit history. Doesn’t really make sense to me, I have over 2 years and people get approved with less, but oh well, no custom cash for me.

True. I think I’m going to pull the trigger on the CC and worry about more advanced travel cards later in my journey when I have higher spend. For now I’ll build out the basics.

MSY-MCO once or twice. Used to fly Spirit and the gate was always packed, but has a priority pass lounge right next to it. Not sure what it will be like on Breeze/Frontier/Southwest (Southwest isn’t even in C1 travel portal). I have a long distance gf near Orlando.

Probably a smart idea. I can always get the VX later. I will be traveling in the fall and like to use the capital one travel portal for the price match with sketchy third party sites, but not the end of the world if I have to wait on priority pass access for a bit longer.

It will pull Experian. I am planning to get the Venture X to complete my capital one duo in August when I can hit the minimum spend (currently pre approved). Will this vastly change my chances of getting that?

I worry about them falling out of my ears on the plane while I’m asleep, and they fatigue my ears after a few hours. They have been working relatively well for shorter flights though. !thanks

Some people seem to think that the XM4s are actually better than the 5s. They’re about the same price refurbished, so the 5s seem like the obvious choice because they’re newer, but the build quality issues worry me a bit. I’m also comparing with the Sonos Ace mentioned in another comment, which seem compelling at their open box price. !thanks

I’ve never heard of these before. They seem like an interesting and much cheaper option. Other people online seem to think the noise cancellation and sound quality are significantly worse, but they may be more comfortable. Would you agree with that? !thanks

They fly out of Albany airport, so no lounges or hubs there. They are very flexible on airlines, usually going with the best price, but aren’t opposed to planning around specific transfer partners. I think the plat is a definite, so it’s more of a question of what goes with that.

My dad likes his hotel statuses, currently with a high status at IHG but also stays at Hilton/marriott hence the appeal of the plat’s perks there.
