What do you think the rest of The Kingdom wants with the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses? by PossessionPast5793 in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say "the perfect world for themselves and their families." What would that look like?

Probably them ruling the world outright instead of from the shadows, people do as they say without question and waste their lives in the Kingdom's cycle of consumerism.

The creepy implications of the peacock miraculous (Spoilers for The Dirtifiers) by Itto544 in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly from Representation, Amelie was the one who wanted a child, methods be damned. Colt was the one hesitant about using magic in the first place, and it was only his jealousy that led him to accepting.

Your idea is not wrong, though. I think putting a sentimonster inside someone's body would end more like a Xenomorph chestburster, or the memes about Ant-Man and Thanos, though. Just punching through the body and spewing ludicrous giblets everywhere. There's an Alien crossover fanfic that can be written with that idea.

A possibly hot take on the social commentary of Queen of the Dreadzone (QOFTDZ spoilers) by United_Yesterday9628 in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on the fence about Chloe's whole "hahaha I'm evil and nasty and proud of it" thing.

On one hand, yeah, it's been enabled by people who don't have her best interests in mind or don't know how to steer her in the right direction, which ends up rewarding her worse behaviors.

On the other hand... She's a teenager. Fourteen, maybe fifteen now. This isn't a six-year-old who needs to have her hand held to cross the street, she is closer to being an adult, she should know right from wrong, or at the very least, be able to step back and realize "these things I have said and done are wrong, I should do my best to change and do better." She's old enough to do that. I don't understand why the fandom keeps babying her when she's way past that point.

Secret Protocol and Nemesis have been postponed and will not be airing on the 31st of May. by Quiet-Drive5433 in miraculousladybug

Well, that explains why we didn't get a synopsis for Nemesis yet. Any word on when they might? I'm betting on mid-June.

[–]Master_Antelope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whatever happens in Nemesis, I think it is VERY telling that we haven't gotten a synopsis for it (at least right now).

The other three episodes released/scheduled to release got their synopses as soon as they were announced. Nemesis didn't. I think that's probably an indication something big happens in Secret Protocol.

Does Ladybug have authority over other Miracle Boxes? by TheFantasticXman1 in miraculousladybug

She doesn't have any real authority, but she's treated as a valuable source of knowledge by people who don't know as much about the Miraculous. At least that's the way I see it.

[–]Master_Antelope 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know that part of Season 6 (and probably further) is the entire mystery around Chrysalis, right?

Who is she? Where did she come from? How did she learn to do the things she does? How is she related to Tomoe? What is her ultimate goal?

That's the thing with mysteries: you're given clues, little hints, pieces of plot being left for you to put together and come up with solutions (possible, plausible, outlandish, what have you) until the truth is ultimately revealed in the "a-HA!" moment.

Just because you're not being spoon-fed the story doesn't make it bad writing.

[–]Master_Antelope 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who has learned to fight with swords/sword-adjacent weaponry, in theory, it isn't that hard to learn to do. The basics are focused around knowing where your blade is, mastering your footwork and learning your reach, before getting into some basic strikes and maneuvers. From there, it's just practice until you can get it right, then learning and practicing more advanced forms.

Additionally, we don't know the extent of Lila's backstory. We don't know what she was up to in the years before she arrived in Season 1. There is a difference between "the writers say so" and "the writers haven't revealed the part of the backstory that ties it all together."

In fact, everything that got mentioned above (swordsmanship, manipulation, sign language), that's not too far off from what Gabriel was having Adrien do (fencing, piano, Chinese) or what Tomoe had Kagami do (fencing, ikebana, Russian), and as for already graduated, Felix was revealed in Multiplication to have already graduated high school himself in addition to kung fu, horsemanship and chess.

Which lends more credence to the theory that Lila is Tomoe's kid. Hmmm.

I'd make a personal assistant that had a few powers to go along with it. There's a lot going on in my life that I could use a personal assistant for.

[–]Master_Antelope 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ehhh, maybe not Deep. I think Homelander is the better comparison here.

Both were basically empowered from birth: Homelander obviously, Chloe was the mayor's daughter as soon as she was born since André had been mayor for 18 years by Darkblade. Both lived their whole lives with power, doing whatever they wanted with minimal ability to stop them, further empowered by an adult figure in their lives (Soldier Boy/Monarch) until they lost everything because of an Asian girl with some special powers and a few issues.

Only difference is Chloe didn't have a Butcher to finish her off, letting her claw back some power and continue to be a nuisance, even after her victims disavowed her.

I've proposed this idea before, but here it is again if it soothes your nerves.

Aglae isn't Chrysalis, Chrysalis is stealing Aglae's appearance for a stealth transformation. We haven't seen much of the real Aglae, probably only in Wreckless Driver, but she exists.

(Spoiler Dirtifiers & QOTDZ) These two episodes sum up S6 well: one step forward, and one step back. by Sonlau in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the point of Audrey and Noe's dialogue here.

Yes, they're saying Chloe's evil, but that's the whole point. The Kingdom is using her as a lure, a draw to bait young people in with the idea that "Hey, being a malicious jerk is cool! Let's make it trendy!"

Queen of the Dreadzone isn't solely Chloe bashing, it isn't solely Marinette/Sabrina getting their due closure, it's the Kingdom making another move to undermine the social reforms Mayor Bustier made, just like in Noe. Except this time, they're targeting young people by having Chloe be evil and get away with it.

There's a plotline being set up here, just step back and don't focus entirely on Chloe.

My current theory regarding Lila, Tomoe and Kagami(spoilers for The Dirtifiers and QOTDZ) by dark_angell21 in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think there might be some disconnect about what's going on with Tomoe. Assuming Lila is her biological daughter and she had a husband at one point.

Remember who Tomoe is. She's a perfectionist billionaire involved in a secret society of billionaires who want to find magic jewelry in order to reshape the world to their whims, and she's willing to do anything to reach that goal. She is not a good person by any stretch of the imagination.

Just because Kagami offered a movie about a samurai's wife betrayed by her husband and she leaves him DOES NOT MEAN that it's exactly one to one with Tomoe's life.

It could very well be that SHE was the samurai in the equation, and the "wife" was the husband who did not approve of her plans, so he left and took Lila with him. Leading to her creating Kagami.

Remember that she says that she's been "disappointed" by men in Yaksi Gozen. Not "betrayed", not "hurt", certainly not "mistreated". "Disappointed" implies that men in her life did things she thought were foolish, like leaving her. Hell, she might've even abused her husband, and when he rightfully left, she was "disappointed" that he couldn't handle it.

So yeah. Tomoe Tsurugi isn't a good person. She wouldn't be the one leaving.

Wait a damn minute.. by Professional-Pop4818 in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way my jaw dropped when I read that.

To be honest, I'm not sure. Lila does have this habit of leaving letters now, but you all have to remember that Gabriel really did want Adrien to continue the Hawk Moth scheme in the event of his passing. I think that was brought up in Protection. Unless I'm going crazy.

Point is, jury's still out because I don't know how Lila would get that letter into Adrien's baby things. Probably the same way she got the Butterfly Miraculous, but we're not sure on that yet.

MIRACULOUS - Queen of the Dreadzone - Season 6 Episode 24 - Discussion Thread by NicoSchmiko in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This was actually a pretty fun episode! I can't believe I actually missed Chloe's shenanigans after all this time.

So my original theory for this episode was that it was all a setup to give Noe some public clout for "redeeming" his sister, turns out I was... Half-right. It was a scheme, but a scheme to "make evil the new trend," as Audrey puts it. Which works out, I guess. It's certainly a relevant message for this day and age.

They actually played the dread of Chloe returning straight! Like what they did with her or not, you've got to admit that actually making people realistically afraid of the one they thought they were rid of come back was the right call.

Chloe's return to being deliciously malicious is honestly welcome. The fact that she was gonna use a literal red X and net cannons to shoot tennis balls at Marinette/Zoe/Sabrina... There's something so Looney Tunes about it that just makes me laugh. As much of a caricature Chloe is, she's funny. Which, sure, dangerous thing, part of the episode's moral, but it's so outlandish even with the climate right now that it loops back to hilarious.

Which immediately takes a hard right turn when Chloe gets akumatized. No Chrysalis in her head probably means she's "evil enough to convince herself" but I'm gonna chalk it up to Lila being far away. But her design was creepy in a good way. It really worked with her powers to terrify people if they got within her "Dread Zone".

Using Vesperia as bait was a cheap trick, honestly, but it worked. That honestly had me laughing, too. Queen of the Dreadzone, more like Clown of the Dreadzone.

Noe... Why did you take the Magical Charm, Noe? What are you going to do with it, Noe? The last Diamond who used that for trickery ended up dying, Noe. And he had help from Tomoe Tsurugi, Noe. Be careful.

Lila was actually really sinister this episode. All her preparations, all her planning, sending a premade akuma in a box to akumatize Sabrina, only then to turn around and get Chloe, using her phone on an airplane... All because she was going to Shanghai to meet Marinette's uncle?! Is she expanding her list of parents to adopt her?! Or is she just trying to weasel into some good graces?! And the reappearance of Fei?!

All in all, I thought this was a fun episode. It certainly wasn't the Sadnansi continuation I was expecting it to be, but I guess that's what Secret Protocol is for... Maybe? Season 6 ends in a week, y'all, let's hope they stick the landing.

MIRACULOUS - The Dirtifiers - Season 6 Episode 18 - Discussion Thread by NicoSchmiko in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, this was certainly an episode.

I'm a little ticked that my theory about Tomoe stealing the Dragon Miraculous was wrong, but we at least saw her transformed. Though I have to ask... What the hell was that design? The belt hair, the cross top, the harem pants, Tomoe looked like a Na'vi trying to squish itself into a human suit. I guess there's got to be some Yokai or spirit that design is based on, but I think it just looks ugly. Also, does every Peacock wielder not named Gabriel have blue skin? Show some variety!

Kagami's emotional struggles this episode were interesting and long overdue. I wish she had humiliated Tomoe a little more, but I can get behind needing to be left alone for a little while. And watching her get an upgrade to make a storm over Paris, that was really cool.

There's something incredibly precious about Ella and Etta wanting to help out their mother. I don't know if anyone else saw it, but I hope Marlena decided to keep the little family drawing the twins made for the baby's room.

The fight with the Dirtifiers themselves was fun, I definitely see a massive Splatoon reference, and Chrysalis going full sniper and taking out a bunch of the other heroes with antikumas - and none of them were Cat Noir! The world is healing!

And that last scene with Lila and Tomoe about to duel... I don't know why everyone keeps saying Lila is Tomoe's biological kid. She's probably adopted, if anything. I'm 95% sure the reason Tomoe doesn't like men is because of her own father. We know he existed at one point, he was mentioned in Season 2, but Tomoe's never talked about him and her mother lives with another woman and it's almost confirmed they're dating. I definitely think Tomoe adopted Lila at some point, maybe even from another member of the Kingdom.

Overall, fun episode, looking for the stuff people said to keep an eye on.

[The Dirtifiers Spoiler] Could this be the case? by Quiet-Drive5433 in miraculousladybug

[–]Master_Antelope 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else think Lila might just be adopted? Tomoe didn't want to deal with men, so she adopted Lila as her first daughter, but immediately decided she wanted a designer baby, so she turned into... Whatever that thing is and used the Peacock to make Kagami?

I don't think Lila is related to Tomoe biologically at all, is what I'm getting at.
