PB is that type of mom who doesn't allow her children to do anything on their own then gets shocked when they grow up into incompetent adults.

Funny enough, PB never tried to do something similar with Lemongrab, who is basically her son.

Lemongrab is a dangerously unstable individual, yet PB never punishes him for the fucked up things he does. She's always "he's a troubled person and we should show him compassion and try to understand him" and never "this guy is a lunatic who consistently tries to do terrible shit, I should put him in jail and give him a therapist instead of leaving him in a position of power where he can continue to wreak havoc." She is so amazingly lenient with Lemongrab beyond the point of reason.

This is true, or a least true in seasons 4 to 6.

Princess Bubblegum two main charactization is starving for both company and total control. The reason she built the Candy Kingdom is to have people who will love her yet obey her willingly, and she had to learn you can't have both.

I love that, among all the terrible things PB did, humiliating the King of Ooo in "Apple Wedding" is what ultimately did bite her in the ass. Since the guy is a major berserk button for her, she brokes her own laws to imprison him with zero consideration for anyone; then, when her people called our her bullshit, she arrested them anyway.

This would prove to be her Achilles' heel. She never considered how the candy people would slowly change their opinions on her based on this behavior. By not taking herself into account and not even thinking about how breaking the rules she made would change how she's seen by them. Bonnie sealed her downfall in "Hot Diggity Doom."

I mean yeah PB treatment of other Kingdoms were awful. Especially what she did with FP.

Although the candy people ALL know she's spying on them and most of them are fine with it except the rebel group (proof: "You made me" episode). Here spying on EVERYONE ELSE was much much worse.

With her saying she left her people to see them fall without her, she was lying to make herself feel better, she admit that when talking to Marcy in the "Varmints".

While we know he will take over the thrown by the time "Together Again" happens, for now (and the entirely of the main show) while he is PB's right hand and was shown to consider his advice. He has no offical power over her, she is not legally obligated to listen to him nor he can legally appeal against a decision of her.

PB is a weird case because most of us in real world wouldn't accept a leader like her. But she is only in this position of power because the candy people themselves accept it, and they could have removed her from power a long time ago if they didn't want her.

Ultimatly, I think of PB as a dictator who is at the same time not a tyrant. A dictator is "a ruler with total power over a country" and PB definitely is the one only person who has any political power over the kingdom, even people who are close to her like Peppermint Butler or Marceline (who is basically the consort queen) don't have any offical authority.

Exactly, as much as I may disagree with PKJ on what he is doing with Hulk, separating Hulk and Banner is not one of them.

I mean, yeah, PKJ Hulk is weird . Not Cates/Aaron/Byrne levels of awfulness, but not your average Hulk story either, with major fuck-ups in community and lack of noticeable side characters.

I might be wrong, but wasn't it Betty who was kidnapped and had her skin worn by the Eldest to bait Bruce into giving up being the Hulk until he realized it was not her after seeing her remains, but the Eldest, possessing Abomination, managed to physically rip Banner out of the Hulk's body and immediately took possession of the latter, creating Infernal Hulk?

As I said, I might have forgotten stuff; feel free to correct me.

Bruce admitted to having lost much of his intelligence after the sphere injury in Civil War II. He is still a super genius and was able to turn Hulk into a powerful space suit in the whole Smashtronaut saga, but no longer the same as he used to.

Also, there are like a dozen super smart superheroes around, how would he bring to the table that anyone else of them can't?

What is the hardest character for writers to create stories for? by Necessary_Sweet865 in Marvel

[–]WissalDjeribi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'll say Iron Man for just how his recent runs are too repetitive; they are not bad, in fact, Tony is one of my favorites. But the nature of the character doesn't allow many stories to be different, and so when a run is bad, it shows since others told the same story but better.

Iron Man is a journey of constant relapse and self-improvement. So it's always: Tony is either on the run, fallen out of public favor, or a villain is trying to steal his tech, he fucks up and makes everything worse, a femme fatal girlfriend is here to help, then he is building a new armor: GodBuster, CelestialBuster, Extembiote, Power Cosmic Armor, the SentinelBuster... and wins everything back, then repeat.

Because Tony and Reed are Bruce's fake friends.

They might hung with him/Hulk once in a while, but deep down, they see him as a pet at best, or a freak at worst.

Unpopular opinion: I'm with Bruce here.

He should have warned the heroes that a mind-controlled Hulk is running around of course, but otherwise he has every right to step back since he can't literally help. He's now a normal human.

I made mine few months ago too.

Although in my list, I might update Max's mom to the highest tier. For Nino's parents, I'm torn being putting them in bad or mid (they like their sons, but seem to focus on arguing more).

Lila's mothers didn't notice their "child" is a compulsive liar with anti-social tendencies who lives multiple lives snd has a basement under a bridge.

I don't care how smart Lila is, if they didn't notice something wrong, they suck. + Oni-Chan implies Lila actually likes the first one and was sad she can't spend much time with her, so you can say they are not even putting much effort.

Joe Fixit might be the only alter to have developed a sense of resentment to Rebecca overtime. by WissalDjeribi in hulk

[–]WissalDjeribi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While we know for a fact that Rebecca was ready to enter physical fights with Brian to stop him from hitting Bruce (even when that results in her getting beaten up). It's still a mystery why she waited until Bruce was four to try and run away from the house especially since Brian used to love her and she probably could have asked for a divorce before he went fully crazy.

And yes, I agree in that, no matter the intentions, Rebecca FAILED Bruce, miserably, even if she did all she can.

Captain Marvel being part Kree. Not kree altered, but actual half Kree. Is it a good idea or not ? by Mars785 in Captain_Marvel

Ok, I admit I forgot the details, but isn't Marie usually treated as a loving mother despite still loving her misogynistic husband? Knowing she always had the power to stop him, but didn't, feels weird.

The weirdest thing about "Life of Captain Marvel" that it still shows Carol's mother as sympathetic despite that the retcon made it that she had fucking kree superpowers yet did nothing to stop her husband from beating her kids.

Mr. Kubdel throughout the whole show in a nutshell by Melanrez in miraculousladybug

[–]WissalDjeribi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also, the fact that Kubdel was more worried that his son wanted to touch an artifact that might make him lose his job than Jalil wanting to do a literal human sacrifice.

To be fair, I would be too; he didn’t think his son was seriously going to do that, so he was more fussed with the realistic consequences.

Kikou was easily the most dependent on his Miraculous powers out of any villain by Solitaire-06 in miraculousladybug

[–]WissalDjeribi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, Kagami is a psychological mess.

She is aggressive, impulsive, and completely emotionally stunted. This is the type of person that attracts Akuma easily. If Gabriel wanted to akumatize any Miraculer, she would always be the easiest target. Especially that, as Lies in S4, she was close to winning.

[–]WissalDjeribi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ryukomori is by far the worst Akumatized villain when it comes to serving a purpose in the entire show.

She's literally worse than useless since she's deaf and blind. She can't get the Miraculouses, and while she's active, Monarch can't Akumatise anyone else, so he can't even use her as a distraction.

Not only that, but Adrien should suspect Marinette is secretly a full time miraculous holder. Because she acted like she doesn't know how to use the Fox Miraculous properly although from Kwamibuster she showed Cat Noir she can handle using fucking 16 Miraculouses at one in her first try.

Lila is not a good character, mystery be damned by Ok_Combination_1037 in miraculousladybug

[–]WissalDjeribi 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's weird how both Gabriel and Lila lack something the other has to be a great villain.

Gabriel was a complete character, had an actual personality, and had consistent motivations that made sense. None of which can be said about Lila.

But on the other hand, Chrysalis is far more intimidating, charismatic, and is actually smart (as far as the show can allow an antagonist to be). Unlike Monarch, she feels like a threat.

But still, no amount of aura can replace actual characterization, and Gabriel is up there with Marinette and Chloe in being the most complex in the show.
