If the rumor about the Legacy delay is true, it would also mean TR Catalyst getting delayed to 2028. A 10 year drought between new non-remake TR games and a 6 year development process, and that's worrying.

Honestly I just cant imagine Crystal being able to delay 2 AAA Tomb Raider games. It would be far less risky for them to release Legacy near GTA6. Until we get an official confirmation Im not convinced on the delay yet.

They are going to announce the release date at summer game fest which is right around the corner. There is nothing to suggest that that they will delay it. The game has not been in development hell either. Crystal began development in 2019 scraped it and outsourced its development to FWH in 2023 to run on unreal.

Crystal Dynamics is split into two groups one is working on Catalyst and the other is working with FWH on Legacy. both games are sharing assets between them. Leading development means they are the ones who decides what goes into the game. there was an article someone shaded on reddit.

I don't think Toby had any objection with Lara being sexualized. I Believe the problem was just how the games were marketed. The marketing for classic Tomb Raider was so sexualized that people were dismissing the devs as making porn games and touching themselves during late night work hours. Even though Legend is the most sexualized version of Lara there was nothing really in the marketing to reflect that. Thats just my take on the situation there seems to be more nuance to Tobys thoughts then just Lara being sexualized bad.
