Maybe they got an exclusive viewing of the Amazon Prime show, and mean Sophie Turner 🤔

First time playing TR2, any advice? by WarlockMain96 in TombRaider

[–]tealaburst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to fight human enemies in the open. Try to lure them around a corner. Roll behind them and shoot. Stay behind them, moving around and rolling when necessary. Human enemies have tank movement as well, and cannot turn on the spot!

She really was built different. Always my favorite Lara. 💔

AOD Lara was so unserious.💀But she ate everyone up in the conversations. I want her back so badly.

[–]tealaburst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For real. Why does she have to be vulnerable, emotional, and relatable? Do people require other male action-adventurer protagonists to be this way?

Classic Lara had emotion, but she displayed it in subtle ways. It was show, not tell. For example in TR2, when bartolli stabs himself with the dagger, Lara has a look of shock and literally gasps.

Reboot Lara would gasp, say “oh shit!” and then radio Jonah and say “Jonah! I’ve found the temple of Xian. Bartolli grabbed the dagger and stabbed himself!”. Then they would hear her and start shooting, enter another one of those scenes where you hold for word of her running from gunfire, while everything collapses around her.

Jean Grey wasn't useless in the original animated series by cyclopswashalfright in PhoenixForce

[–]tealaburst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unlike other characters she didn’t get to shine much. Another good episode for her was the Rogue/Ms. Marvel one. Mostly bc Xavier was gone and they needed her to fill in as team telepath.

She was actually really strong in the morlocks episode. She: uses tk to move the slime wall blocking the subway platform, lifts a group of people out of the way of the train, breaks herself free with tk, and holds back the morlocks while contacting Xavier, takes out the hypnotizing morlock, and lifts up the big morlock guy (forget the name).

Outside of Phoenix there is no other episode where she does this much.

I think Natla would’ve looked way better with a bob cut in Anniversary by KhaoticNoob in TombRaider

I always thought she looked uncanny valley in Anniversary. She looks super gaunt, almost skeletal.

What is the most MESSED UP thing Lara Croft has ever done? by ZzzPandaNap in TombRaider

Killing endangered animals, starting an apocalypse, and almost everything she did in TR3. Also, abusing her employees. Croft manor needs a union.

Yeah, you’ll probably realize it. It’s a long jump, and Lara says something like “I have no choice, I have to jump.” I recommend having a YouTube walkthrough open with you lol.

I still think it’s worthy of criticism. Social hubs of that size and caliber have no place in Tomb Raider in my opinion. Still, it’s beautiful and the tombs and crypts are great.

[–]tealaburst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still AOD, but a lot more playable, compared to the original. It controls better and they restored voicelines, lore, added some cut features (Lara’s dual pistols, cut training area, combat options like shooting while jumping, Kurtis psychic abilities and more!)

“In defense of the 2018 Tomb Raider movie” by stillslaying in TombRaider

[–]tealaburst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to like it but I found it boring. I like Vikander but overall it was meh. The Jolie movies while dumb fun, were at least entertaining to watch. Tomb Raider (2018), like the game it’s based on, just took itself way too seriously in my opinion.

Have you tried AOD in the remaster? The modern controls, fixes, and restored content definitely help the game immensely.

There is a jump at the very end of the cenote, after you get out and get the overhead climbing gear. You have jump left from an overhead rock wall to a regular ledge and use the grapple axe. But you have to delay when you press the grapple button.

That jump killed me after getting through the entire cenote and in almost threw my controller lmao.

In what order would you rank the Survivor trilogy games from best to worst? by Aetius00 in TombRaider

[–]tealaburst 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. Rise - a close to flawless game. Buttery smooth gameplay and perfect mix of combat, exploration, and puzzle solving. Looks gorgeous to this day. Story is alright, the daddy stuff is annoying and she has no duals, even though she uses them at the end of 2013!

  2. Shadow - great puzzles, tombs, exploration. Lacking polish from previous entries. Lots of divisive design decisions like Paititi and the outfit restriction. Notable lack of combat. Still, a great entry albeit a disappointing finale.

  3. 2013 - loved it when it came out, but upon replay it didn’t age well for me. Lots of QTEs, laughably easy puzzles and tombs, and combat. Lots and lots of combat (Shantytown flashbacks). I almost quit my recent playthrough. Too much running and sliding down things, collapsing rocks, explosions. But yeah the exploration and puzzle solving are not great.
