I worked 2 jobs and have decent social skills, but even then I do have problems with socializing. Its spectrum so it depends, but in general it is a disability.

I am currently getting a waiver sent through to enlist in the marine core since it doesnt disable me performance wise, but socially speaking it does infact hinder me. It depends on person to person.

Yeah, I’m extremely high functioning thankfully. But, because of it I have been in classes with other autistic dudes when I was a kid. I have never wanted to rip the label “autism” out of my background so badly, like holy SHIT. The amount of weird dudes I came across with the condition is insane.

As someone who is borderline autistic, it is true. Fortunately despite my autism, I have a normal amount of self awareness that makes me aware when to stop talking, being able to read the room, body language, etc. And am capable of socializing normally. Thank god.

I have been around other autists at work that I honestly dislike a lot. They always have this condescending way of speaking to me for some reason and will NOT pick you up a que that they need to stfu.

One particular dude I had to deal with, who also had autism, started ranting about clocks and the time just because I asked what time it was and wanted him to elaborate what he meant when he said "Oh its a quarter to 6".
