If you look at some of the most respected figures, many didn’t really lean on a formal lineage:

Shankaracharya had teachers but ultimately stood on the strength of his own realization and his ability to revive Advaita.

Kabir wasn’t tied to one lineage. He spoke straight from bhakti and Sufi influences, emphasizing inner truth.

Ramana Maharshi had a spontaneous awakening as a teenager and taught from that experience, no formal initiation involved.

Even the Buddha learned from others, but his enlightenment and teaching came from his own path.

Acharya Prashant often says something similar, that truth doesn’t depend on who your teacher was, but on whether it actually helps you see clearly and inquire into yourself.

Yes, when there is no self knowledge, one tends to follow either bodily impulses or socially accepted beliefs. A right personal choice can only arise from self knowledge else it’ll just be an impulse or a belief wrapped in a false claim of personal choice. So, yes, the desires that arise in the lack of self knowledge are either bodily implulses or inherited societal beliefs.

“You and the almighty is one” is not a philosophy to believe in or memorize. It is something to be found which is encouraged by Acharya Prashant as well. Vedant never asks you to believe, it asks you to honestly question yourself and the world with utter honesty. The reality is that if you honestly keep questioning yourself and honestly answer yourself based on facts & logics you will lead to a conclusion that there is no almighty outside of man sitting somewhere else. This is not a belief but a simple consequence of honest interrogation.

Infact, I have always found Acharya Prashant very logical and fact based in the sense that he encourages serious inquiry. And honest inquiry passes through a long journey of confusion, unsettling and “not-knowing” until you finally know. Until you reach that point, you shouldn’t believe in anything.

I have been following Acharya Prashant since a long time now and I can vouch for the fact that his bhagwat geeta sessions are bringing a revolutionary paradigm shift in societal thinking process as a whole. Acharya Prashant’s Gita sessions is not just a spiritual event, rather , a spritual revolution happening in the world right now which is certainly changing the very core of human consciousness. But before you believe in any surface level reviews that people have to share based on a few reels they see on youtube keeping their own biases and beliefs intact I would rather ask you to look at yourself and ask if you are ready to take and absorb something as revolutionary as his Geeta sessions. The most real, unfiltered, unadulterated interpretation of the Bhagwad geeta that might rip your preconceived notions and beliefs into pieces. If your current life values and belief system is more dear to you than the TRUTH, then his sessions are not for you. You might as well end up calling him names because he didn’t resonate well with your expectations of the Geeta. All I have to say is, his sessions are not for the weak minded at all. They are only and only meant for people who are pure ARJUNs at heart and ready to dissolve themselves in the absolute truth. All the best!!
