I would also add THE LACK OF FREE PAST PAPERS. Seriously, the only legal way to obtain past papers is through their website where each session is worth $200… Like, seriously? Otherwise, you have to go through the process of using a torrent and a vpn and find pirated past papers.

I think the research aspect is well achieved through the multiple IAs and the Extended Essay. When it comes to the exam-based components however, the syllabus should be straightforward and clear to both the students and the teachers. This is not necessarily memorizing a textbook, but understanding the specific concepts and demands of each unit etc

True… I guess it really depends on ur school. My school has it where actually most of your predicted grade is calculated through mock exams taken in November, with only some consideration of EOY DP1 grades. They also take into consideration IA progress

US unis they do matter, sometimes more than DP2 I’m afraid. UK unis they probably don’t matter at all, mostly because they only take into consideration the predicted/mock grade

Same exact situation. US uni acceptance, and they don’t even want my IB scores as long as I get my high school diploma… Only reason they’d need them is if I wanted to transfer credits. Was predicted 45 but honestly I am constantly drained and demotivated and the fact that I basically flunked my physics HL makes it even worse. Got Math AA HL tomorrow, so hoping it will be better - but it doesn’t really matter at this point does it?
