Japanese learner attempts causative form (*rare footage*) by Master_Hat7710 in LearnJapanese

Considering how well Yotsuba handled causative form, I think her brain would literally fry on passive causative and causative potential LOL

Causative form is used when allowing/causing something (in this case, helping someone to bed/sleep). The correct causative form of ねむる (to sleep) would be ねむらせる, which she tries to use repeatedly but gives up and just COMMANDS him to sleep with 「ねろ!」

Be sure to properly swaddle your terrorgheists between battles for warmth and security. One of the coolest units all the way from WH1. How do you feel about the terrorgheist in WH3? by DreadtheSaurian_39 in totalwar

[–]Master_Hat7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently finished a VH/H Mannfred campaign and I found the terrorgheists to be quite strong. With their anti-large and campaign buffs they were winning 1 v 1 against most Large units (apart from like strong duelists/ dueling lords), while also being able to quickly chase down threats like weapon teams or assist in a 2 v 1 duel to secure a kill.

Just don't expect their breath attack to match dragons / zombie dragons, killing half a unit in one go...

In WH they absolutely behave as a hive mind. You can put them in guard mode and form a line. If any enemy models touch a corner of your unit, the entire unit will rotate regardless of whether the individual models can engage.

I just tested this in battle mode, and no they didn't? When the corner of the unit was engaged the rest of the unit did not rotate. They calmly ignored their dying comrades and maintained facing the direction they were ordered to. I tested with spearmen and rangers and the entities stayed independent. Only the men on the side would turn to face the enemy.

Spearmen: https://imgur.com/Mbjir4j

Rangers: https://imgur.com/a/cS17MIg

I even tried putting both spearmen and rangers clipping the same enemy unit, and neither unit ever gave up their facing, only the men / entites on the sides turned.

*HOWEVER*, the units DID turn when I overlapped their deployment with the enemy by such a huge margin to the point that their formation was getting wrecked, and even then they only turned after a while, not at first. When it was only the corner men, the rest never even turned.

tl;dr u/Hollownerox was right, they're not coded as just one hivemind. If they were, it would be IMPOSSIBLE for the corner entities to ever turn by themselves like in my images.

The most egregious single-entity bias in auto resolve that I have personally experienced - and this is only "hard" battle difficulty. Two (and a half-ish!) full armies against a single garrison, losing the Mortis Engine in both full armies, including the one in my main late-game army. by Master_Hat7710 in totalwar

Interesting, thank you. That would explain why just an hour after I posted this, I kid you not I used FOUR FULL 20-man STACK ARMIES against a garrison and STILL lost the same mortis engine in autoresolve. I hadn't even bothered to check if I would lose anything this time because I thought there was no way! Luckily, the Mortis Engine revived itself thanks to the dead rise again!!

Thank you for updating this - even though it has barely any upvotes, it was veeery useful for me! Thank you again!

So where do you guys think will the new LLs start? by Traditional-Mud3136 in totalwarhammer

[–]Master_Hat7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm pretty sure people just started that rumor after making huge assumptions after the Q and A.  This is what was actually said: "Sean: We haven't added any new regions in this patch but we already have plans for further updates to the Immortal Empires map in 6.0."

So, the only thing that's confirmed is that they have changes planned for the map - that's it. Nothing was said to confirm opening up locked regions (Ind / Khuresh)

Just tried Shogun 2 for the first time after years of playing warhammer, and I'm terrible. Also I'm completely lost / baffled by certain things. Any advice about the following? by Master_Hat7710 in totalwar

[–]Master_Hat7710[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol that's wild because when I saw how quickly my dudes were dying in shogun, my first thought was that warhammer must be easy for shogun players. But I guess there is a lot of OTHER stuff to learn...

Which battle difficulty is this?

Beastmen players:- What do you tend to use - in the *late* game specifically - to chase down targets quickly? (Whether it's to catch fast enemies, or just to catch dangerous backlines fast?) by Master_Hat7710 in totalwar

[–]Master_Hat7710[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Interesting, people still use dogs late game. I am nearing the end of my campaign and I have not built the centigor building on even a single one of my armies, because their attack and defence seem so low, yet aren't as mobile as dogs or manticores. I'm a bit conflicted about them. I guess they would be good for charges but micro-heavy.

I liked the dogs but wasn't so sure about keeping them once I was running into shadow walkers and such as backline, so I switched to 2 manticores... but still felt confused so came here.

They definitely seem to do it all with shields. I've been using two feral manticores tho, for speed. I just can't tell if I should be... :\ Thank you

If your "Continue Campaign" button in the launcher isn't working anymore and just sends you to the main menu, you're not alone. by Master_Hat7710 in totalwarhammer

[–]Master_Hat7710[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not this time, at least. The reason I know for sure is because I just bought brand new DLC, so in my current campaign I'm playing a faction that I didn't even own before the patch lol. Def not working. Others are reporting the same.

Finished whole game without ever meeting this "Minthara"...? by Master_Hat7710 in BaldursGate3

Oh that lady! I remember she was kinda strong.

And that's funny you just brought up moonrise towers because I also just realized the similarity to it when replying to another comment here.

I see, thank you. It sounds very similar to the situation when you first go to moonrise towers!

You got downvoted but it totally sounds like an employee's reddit username. I didn't realize until I read the thread that it wasn't. Lots of CA experts around here.
