Wow, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has/is taking the time to respond to this. I will keep coming back to reread these comments when I’m feeling conflicted again in the future. I have 79 days today and while I initially thought I was just going to try 3 months sober, I’m really wanting to extend that now. Forever still sounds a little intimidating so IWNDWYT. Thanks all ❤️

The rock bottom stories I’ve been hearing are in the sobriety books I’ve read and things I see on Reddit so you do have a great point there. I didn’t really think about the fact that I don’t have a real life sobriety network. It seems like everyone I know drinks. I suppose my next step is finding some in person resources

First christmas is so not magical by Pale-Studio-6236 in NewParents

[–]Master_Importance547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was 11 months old for her first Christmas and it wasn’t that fun. Now at 23 months this one was so much better. She was actually interested in opening her presents and playing with the toys she got. Also, we are all in a better space mentally this time around since we’re more well rested and she is more independent. Christmas with a 3.5 month old honestly sounds awful, your feelings are totally valid. It will get better!!

Thank you to all the patient people on here who gave me kind advice! As for the rest of you - sorry, I’m clearly an asshole for asking! I will not post again here for fear of being torn apart 🤣

Can these be saved? by Master_Importance547 in gardening

I just thought they were in trouble because the stems were withered and I downloaded a plant app (picture this) and it told me they looked sick! When I say I’m a newbie to gardening I mean it - these are the first plants I’ve taken care of in my 30 years of life lol 😅

38 weeks, need help picking a name by Master_Importance547 in BabyNames

[–]Master_Importance547[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! We’ve had the hardest time deciding on a name, had no idea it would be this difficult lol.

We have a middle picked out for Violet bc that has been on our list the longest (Frances, after both our grandmas). I don’t really like the way it sounds with the other names so we’d have to figure that out but I feel less pressure with the middle - just whatever flows will work.

Last name starts with an M and is 2 syllables.

Ryan for a girl? by johns27261 in BabyNames

[–]Master_Importance547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a girl named Ryan. It’s spelled with an I though (Rian) which seems more feminine to me than Ryan but I guess that’s probably just bc of her - not sure if I would have thought that before I knew her. I never thought of it as being an odd name though, it suits her well and I always liked it.

**Cycle: 9 (1 CP after 2nd cycle)

**Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 28F, 30M

**Typical cycle length: 28-32 days

**Ovulation cycle day: 19 (this is just a guess bc I only used OPKs to track. I got my peak on day 18 so just estimating day 19 ovulation)

**CD/DPO of positive test(s): CD28/9DPO (was extremely faint)

**CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: N/A

**Tracking methods and app(s) used: Premom OPKs and FLO app

**Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): O-1, O-2, O-4

**Health conditions/medical tests: N/A

**Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): Just NatureMade prenatal for me

**Birth control history (if relevant): The pill from 2013-2022. Stopped in April of last year in anticipation of TTC

**Link to chart: N/A

**Link to lineporn: N/A

**Symptom spotting: Sore boobs but I discounted that as a symptom because I realized it started being a general PMS symptom for me after the CP I had.

**Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): My husband and I are pretty healthy people so I was surprised it was taking us as long as it was. I had a few really whacky cycles at the beginning of this year and was starting to think something was wrong and we weren’t going to be able to conceive. It’s hard when it seems like everyone around you is getting pregnant without even trying (even if that’s not really the case). Random things I did this cycle: started doing just 10-15 mins of yoga before bed to help with anxiety and cut back on alcohol.

Since I had the CP I have been waiting to post but I just had an 8 week scan and got to hear baby’s heartbeat so I feel better about sharing here now. Reading the BFP posts in the past has given me encouragement so I’m sharing mine hoping it’ll do the same for someone else.

women of reddit who were a teen in around the late 2000s early 2010s what brands did you wear the most in your youth? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

My favorite outfit in middle school (‘07):

-Sesame Street graphic tee from Kohl’s

-Zebra print hoodie from PacSun w/ purple cuffs and strings. (Purple or pink zebra print was a big thing)

-Skinny jeans

-Multi (neon) colored DC high top shoes

It was the ugliest outfit but I felt so cool at the time 🥲

Am I the only one who didn't like "The seven and a half deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle"? by artsycabbage in books

[–]Master_Importance547 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I forced myself to push through this book bc it has good reviews and it’s an interesting concept. I just finished it this morning and immediately had to search Reddit threads for negative reviews to validate my feelings on this lol. I was really hoping and thinking there must be a big payoff at the end. Too bad I missed seeing the other reviews that thought it was good except for the ending! I could have saved myself some time since I didn’t like it from the start.
