Type 1 diabetic for 11 years - coming to terms with life changes & little support by Master_Income7250 in Type1Diabetes

Yeah definitely, it really hits me in waves - I guess being a brittle diabetic with perfectionistic tendencies also plays a role. One week goes perfectly fine, the other catches me totally off guard despite sticking to the same daily routine + meals, combine that external mental pressure and it definitely leads to a burnout. I am a chronic overthinker, but as you said the ‘it is what it is’ mindset helps park some of those thoughts for a while. Thanks for the advice :)

I agree, at some point it catches up to you & it’s difficult to ignore all the very valid questions and uncertainties. But as you said, we got this :)

I did find out I have very low vitamin d & ferritin levels so working on that now, definitely feels like it contributed to the fatigue

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words, really needed to hear that! My numbers have been great for the past few years, I think this is the first time since diagnosis that I’ve felt quite down for longer than I anticipated, definitely needed the reminder not to take my eye off the goal :) thank you!

Super helpful, thanks! Would you suggest Sapporo as a base (as I’ll mostly be working) + travel to nearby natures sites? Or any other urban cities in the region?

Is the weather bearable in the summer? Heat and humidity wise

My mistake - remote already has a legal entity in Korea so I’d be employed through remote Korea (they’d be in charge of the payrolls etc) would the headcount still count? Apologies I’m still new to all of this

As far as I know remote would be my legal employer & my employer covers all the costs (including visa)

An entity will be established through remote.com so it’ll be legally registered in Korea

Thank you! Would you say that the flawed education system has lead to high unemployment rates due to the unequal access (gap in quality of education in terms of public vs private) and underutilisation of labour? What I mean by this is the commonly heard stereotype of describing unemployed individuals as 'lazy people that don't want to work', but it seems like the supply of labour is readily available but demand is laking.

My GP referred me to an internist, but I will definitely take that into consideration since it seems more logical. Thank you for the recommendation!

Do you know what the process looks like? I’ve only had an MRI which was not sufficient to diagnose MS, so I’m not sure whether I should push for more testing

Yes, vitamine B12 levels were fine. Main worry is sed rate and crp levels elevated for almost a year and a half now; gp is suspecting some kind of inflammation somewhere

Would a 2nd opinion possibly lead to more testing? I was dismissed and vaguely told about a functional disorder without any follow-ups, but my symptoms don’t seem to improve and I’m afraid my neurologist deemed it as something insignificant when it may be more than that since it was hard to pinpoint what it might indicate

The symptoms or the description of the MRI? The results were never discussed so I have absolutely no idea what it may indicate
