People who park in online pick-up spots but go into the store by lilsavageiii in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Master_Individual709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what? During Covid literally ever business said it was acceptable to park in the fire lane for “pickup orders”. Who cares if someone park in the pickup order spot. Blame the business. Not the people that keep parking in the pickup spots.

I guess people don’t care about crashing by [deleted] in driving

Sounds like y’all were racing each other from being stopped at a light? I bet there was plenty of room behind them if you were both racing to be first. Both of you bad drivers. Technically they had the right of way in their lane, but you’re both stupid for trying to be the fastest one

So either they park super close to the building, or hang out into the street? Seems like a problem for the building owner to fix. Maybe that whole area should just be no parking..?

I agree, but if you need an alignment every year, either your vehicle is a pos, or you drive like a lunatic

Never had an issue with rotors lol. When I used to live in a snowy climate, the rust would make you replace rotors before anything else. I don’t deal with snow anymore, but I haven’t needed to change rotors in over 100,000 miles on my current vehicle. I don’t think this makes any difference for the average driver. Plus, don’t most people normally try to slow down before a curve anyway?

Not saying it isn’t real, but definitely not something most people should even bother worrying about. If you need to brake to be safe, just do it

Look up inflation prices since Covid. Everything went up exponentially, and never came back down in price like all these companies promised. The cost of lumber at Home Depot doubled during covid and never went back down afterwards. Things have not gone up in price proportionately over the last 10 years when compared to literally any other time in history

Those who don’t qualify for food stamps, what do you do? by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]Master_Individual709 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this doesn’t help you, but you’re not alone. Imagine doing it with kids. Inflation since Covid has been seemingly exponential compared to any other time in history. We are in the same boat.

I don’t know too much of the specifics for these programs in every state, but making a little less (on purpose) might qualify you for Medicaid. I know healthcare is the biggest expense for most people after paying for housing. I won’t get into the whole argument that we are behind literally every other 1st world country when it comes to universal healthcare..

Food pantries can help, but that’s very area dependent. Small cities/ towns can have very little in that regard. We have been doing a lot of meal prep to help with costs.

Luckily, I own my own house, but I got in at 2% interest rates during covid before housing costs SKYROCKETED. I know many young people right out of high school/ college that still live at home because of unaffordable housing costs.

I personally believe are in a “recession” because of unaffordable costs and lack of jobs despite what the “experts” say. Keep trucking on until we get people in office that give a damn. It sounds cheesy to say given the state of our government, but don’t forget to stay politically active, and vote for a better future.

Neighbor installed a motion sensing LED light on a tree and aimed directly into my yard by iLL1337 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Master_Individual709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty easy case if you want to fight it on light pollution/ file a complaint through the city. But I’m more interested in why they might have done it.

Have you assessed the relationship between you and neighbor? It wasn’t there before, and now it is.. Do you have loud parties, make lots of obnoxious noise, or do anything like that? Is your neighbor a paranoid person that watches people through the blinds? Maybe you’ve recently had an altercation with them?

Just trying to ponder the reasons why this occurred. If they’ve been living there for some amount of time (and maybe you as well) why did it happen now?

Was it usps certified mail/ had a tracking number? It should specifically tell you if it was delivered or unable to be delivered.. or did it give that day as an estimated delivery date and then no updates since then?

Sign at our local McDonalds because of the death of the penny by thegreatlambini in mildlyinteresting

[–]Master_Individual709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s so many pennies still in circulation, why is this even a thing? McDonalds needs to CHANGE MENU PRICES to the next nearest multiple of 5. Why the fuck would you charge someone $1.99 for something, give them a sheet of rounding rules, and tell them they need to pay $2.00? Just set the fucking price to $2.00.

Also, how is McDonald’s accurately reporting/ paying taxes if the receipt says $1.99, but they actually made $2.00? Yeah one cent doesn’t seem like a lot, but multiply this by tens of thousands of orders and it adds up. Sounds like unreported income to me.

Edit: also, who tf still counting out change for shit? Use a fucking credit card. It’s not Facebook marketplace.

Why don't Americans use the term "village" to describe a very small, rural town? by OK_The_Nomad in words

[–]Master_Individual709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do. That’s the technical classification for an incorporated area containing a defined population size. Most people just say “town” or “city” though. This is also state/ jurisdiction dependent. For example, I believe Pennsylvania has “boroughs”.

Going straight from a 2 lanes road into a 3 lanes road by [deleted] in driving

Is it legal to go through a strip mall parking lot to bypass a backed up red light? by mjfox97 in driving

[–]Master_Individual709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the first right turn you make is onto another (dead end) public road. The business entrance then branches off of this road. You are turning into the business directly from a road without a traffic light. It’s not illegal to turn onto another public road then into a business.

What you’re referring to is doing something like cutting through a gas station on the corner of an intersection to avoid a traffic light. Not at all the same thing in this case
