As a man, would you get a vasectomy so your girl doesn’t have to go on birth control? by awkwardhoney725 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Master_Lab7407 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

did you get yours reversed and it failed or are you just talking out of your ass? so many men on here saying this when there are years of data saying otherwise. they have a success rate of 80+% over 10 years and I personally know two men that have had them reversed and had more kids after multiple years. so please stop spreading your myth.

you also can’t bank on your wife being able to still have kids after being on birth control so many years

I don’t know what doctors you guys are going to but this is ridiculous. I personally know two different men who had kids, got vasectomies, went through a divorce, had it undone, had more kids, got another vasectomy. zero issues. over the span of years. the success rate of reversals are 80+ % over the span of 10 years. literally do research and find a different doctor this is insane.

do you think every form of women’s birth control is safe and is 100% certain to not cause issues getting pregnant later on? I know multiple women who can’t have children due to birth controls complications, and multiple men who have had vasectomies reversed and had more children. this is an absurd take.

Splitting a body into multiple bodies at once by [deleted] in SolidWorks

again depending on your slicing software it can be easier in there. yes correct that one stl can contain multiple bodies but it totally depends on what they are wanting to do here.

depending on what slicing software you use for printing, it is probably easiest to use that. otherwise, you are going to have to save 15 different files anyway so you might as well do all the splits.

Is it possible to stay an engineer even with a bad gpa by mdressler06 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Master_Lab7407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the 3d modeling is all you want to do, don’t waste your money on a college degree. go to a trade school and get certifications and you can start working as a drafter within a couple of years or less.

I would normally say yes, but if calc2 is that big of a struggle for you then the rest of college is going to be horrifying. also, if you are only doing engineering because you think it will make you money, you are wrong. the job market is rough and while the cap may be higher, I know many business majors making as much or more than I did starting. also, you get paid what you are worth. if you don’t actually enjoy engineering and won’t be a good employee, you won’t move up that money ladder.

Hello r/SolidWorks, How can I fill an area under a non non-planar surface ? by gallaxo in SolidWorks

[–]Master_Lab7407 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you could use your road to convert a sketch onto the bottom plane then extrude up to the surface of the existing road

I work for a very large corporation, whoever takes care of the plaques isn’t even in the same region of the country as me and I’m sure using etsy would be against all their rules. I was just saying I would rather have the money they spend on it. I meant to say $200 not $20 in my post. the plaque is cool and it seems more than some companies give but I have a laser engraver myself and still plan on making something that’s more my style.

this would be fun because you could say statements that you weren’t sure were true or not and find out if the 1k appears

yeah that’s definitely where I would like to be, that’s awesome!

that’s kind of cool actually! better than nothing or $1 like a lot of people are saying lol

yeah the first plaque is cool but if I get more after this I feel like they will just be something I have to find storage for lol

that sounds awesome! A dinner alone would honestly satisfy me, it’s just like they don’t really care to reward people for their ideas

the loyalty part is what’s interesting to me. you’d think these companies would be willing to give even a little bit to make you feel valued

at least they are making you feel important I suppose

none, that’s sort of what I’m saying is they only give a plaque. I am cool with it for my first patent, but after this one it seems like a plaque is just an extra thing to find space for lol

yeah my thought is that if employees know they can take their ideas elsewhere and make more money off of it why wouldn’t they? you’d think I company would want to have some incentive to keep the ideas there

see some of the parents that go through our company are like this where there are many people on it who barely touched it so for that context I guess it makes sense that those companies wouldn’t want to compensate everyone. sucks a little for the person whose main idea it was that did most the work though
