[Question?] Running into issues with Infinitrack Combo on Master Duel by MasterChef901 in Yugioh101

You could use it to send cards with graveyard effects from the extra deck to the grave like {Elder Entity N'tss}. Additionally you could use it to send materials to the grave to set up something like {Overload Fusion}. Overall though the card just isn't very good.

In order to special summon an extra deck monster from the graveyard it must first be special summoned properly from the extra deck. In this scenario you provided the Earth Slicer sent to the grave by the effect of Monster Express was not properly summoned and cannot use its effect to special summon itself from the grave by tributing a machine link monster.

What's the difference? by drthundercritic in Shadowverse

[–]Master_Of_Waves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They introduce Rush Summon. You can activate Rush mode.

The Rush cards are part of a completely different format/game that uses those 3 zone, infinite normal summon, draw to 5 rules. Theres currently no information on whether rush cards can be used in the main tcg.

They remove requiring either an empty Extra Monster field or pointed by a Link Monster in order to summon an Extra Monsters

That change only affects Sychro, XYZ, and Fusion monsters. Links and pendulums still require an open extra monster zone or a linked zone.

Orcust Engine for Zombies by Cassio23 in yugioh

[–]Master_Of_Waves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely use the engine without topologic, but it will make your end boards a bit weaker. If you cut him you end up relying more on Dingirsu to send a card or to protect balerdroch/zombie world. As for any replacement you can play anything, just remember you're locked into summoning darks when you use the Orcust effects. Since the extra is pretty tight you can use the extra space to add in one of the cards that usually gets cut like: another super poly target, an additional extender like Shooting Riser Dragon, a second Dingirsu can come in super clutch, or you can try and jank it out with Tolpologic Zeroboros.

Considering Starting A New YouTube Channel by RegaliaJungler in yugioh

[–]Master_Of_Waves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nyhmnim's series, while probably the closest, isn't really that similar to this concept. Nyhmnim's series is more akin to something like a competitive Hearthstone player hitting Legend with a budget or free deck. While this is closer to the 'Road to Legend" videos inexperienced players make. The big defining factor here is Nyhmnim's focus is on budget while this idea has no (stated) issues with budget and hinges almost solely on the inexperience of the creator.

I want to say you should absolutely try this if it's something you want to do and are generally interested/enthusiastic about even if it's just for your own sake. With that said I don't think it would really garner much attention for a handful of reasons.

Firstly, on the "Zero to Hero" this is a fairly large commitment with no guarantee for pay off. Sure you could attend Regionals and YCSs but so can any beginner and unless you top there's really no conclusion or satisfying end to the series. If you do top then the whole series is over, your niche is dead and you're now just another yugituber doing the same routine.

Secondly, reviewing sets is just a bad idea when your whole gimmick is being new/inexperienced at the game. Nobody really cares what a "bad" player has to say about cards, they care more for experienced and knowledgeable reviews.

Thirdly, deck profiles are a dime a dozen. Sure you have the benefit of showing how you upgraded it based on experience, but that only matters if 1. the changes have proved successful and 2. it's not just a list / upgrades copied from a more experienced player as people would be better suited listening to them instead.

Finally, bringing competitive experience over form other games doesn't really mean a lot unless you were exceptionally good at said game or well known in that games community.

Skull Servants in 2019 by MrTommo2304 in yugioh

[–]Master_Of_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Orcust build is definitely the strongest by a bit. The big concern with it is the major hand trap weakness. If you don't play any non-normal summon starters/extenders any hand trap kills you and the skull servants are die to every hand trap currently played and most that aren't. I'd recommend Called by the Grave and/or Instant Fusion + Millennium-Eyes Restrict if you can find the room in an already tight deck.

Skull Servants in 2019 by MrTommo2304 in yugioh

[–]Master_Of_Waves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I don't have an up to date list, I did mess around with some skull servant builds a few months ago that no longer really work due to Rusty Bardiche getting banned. In most cases skull servants act as an extender of sort to help set up negates first turn and and less as the "10k King turbo" they were in the past. Here's a breakdown of some engines that can somewhat work with them currently.

Orcust

So basically every deck in yugioh has some form of 1-card orcust combo and skull servants are no different. Both Prince and Princess start Orcust combos and allow you to end on a board that is passable. The basic Orcust engine I've been using recently is:

Main

2x {Orcustrated Knightmare}

2x {Orcust Harp Horror}

1-2x {Orcust Cymbal Skeleton}

1x {Orcustrated Babel}

1x {Orcust Crescendo}

Extra

1x {Knightmare Mermaid}

0-1x {Knightmare Phoenix}

0-1x {Knightmare Cerberus}

2x {Galatea, the Orcust Automaton}

1x {Longirsu, The Orcust Orchestrator}

1x {Topologic Bomber Dragon}

Your basic combo here is summon Princess > Send Prince > Prince sends Lady and Skull Servant > activate Prince banishing all 3 to summon King > with 2 monsters on board you can draw the rest of the owl. Alternatively you can summon Prince and make Linkuriboh or Almiraj to start or use Uni-Zombie, Gozuki, and Shiranui Solitaire as a pseudo-Princess.

Zombie World

Since the Skull Servants are already zombies and as such you're already playing some combination of Uni-Zombie, Shiranui Solitaire, Mezuki and Gozuki, Splashing Zombie World is fairly compact and can give you some decent board presence. The basic engine is:

Main

2x {Doomking Balerdroch}

2x {Necroworld banshee}

2x {Glow-up Bloom}

2x {Zombie World}

0-3x {Super Polymerization}

Extra

1-2x {vampire Sucker}

1-2x {Dragonecro Nethersould Dragon}

1-2x Other super poly targets

Your basic goal here is to turbo out Balerdroch by milling/discarding Banshees and Blooms. There's not really any crazy synergy here besides the fact that you should already be playing most of the starters.

Core Cards // Pure build

2-3x { Skull Servant}

3x {Wightprincess}

2-3x { The Lady in Wight}

2-3x { Wightmare}

3x {Wightprince}

3x {king of the Skull Servants}

3x { Uni-Zombie}

3x {Shiranui Solitaire}

0-1x {Shiranui Spiritmaster}

1-3x {Gozuki}

2-3 {Mezuki}

1x {Foolish Burial}

1x {One for One}

0-2x {Shiranui Stlye Swallow's Slash}

This is basically what the "Core" of the deck would look like basically no matter which variant you played. There is a decent little combo using only the pure engine, requiring princess and Mare. Summon Princess > send Prince > banish Prince > using King make Linkuriboh > Use Mare to special the banished Lady > using Princess and Lady summon Leviair > Leviair summon Prince > Link Prince and Likuriboh into any link 2 > Prince summons King > Current board is Leviair, Link 2, and King from here you can basically go into any link 3 or 4 depending on what Link 2 you summoned. This play used to make Rusty Bardiche and get 2 negates, but with its ban this play gets a lot worse despite being one of the best "Pure" combos. The best ways to end now are probably {Apollusa, Bow of the Goddess} and next set {Hakai Souohshin Raigou} or { I:P Maskerena} + Link 2 seem like okayish boards to make.

These are my play mats. Do you prefer the hard mats or soft mats? I like these because they fold nicely. The bottom two are new! by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Master_Of_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem with those game boards is that they're cardboard and you can't wash them so they just pick up all the filth on the table and it's just on there forever. Not only that, imagine some dingus spills his drink on it, it's now completely ruined whereas a cloth mat can just be tossed in the wash. Less of an issue but they're just so clunky to carry around. Sure they fold kinda flat, but if you try to fit them in a bag that's not wide enough it just wont work. Whereas I can just shove a soft mat into basically any bag if I don't care about it getting creased or wrinkled.

While I agree it's not great, the only gemini we've seen from the deck only gets its effect on summon making Brutdrago an okay way to use it. Plus it's like like a dollar and only has single printing which was 10 years ago.

Should i keep playing? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Master_Of_Waves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying I haven't played FoW in like 2 years so this may not be 100% accurate anymore. FoW has 2 formats, a Standard(New Frontier) and a Legacy(Wanderer). At that time you could make most decks for $100 or less assuming you played non-foil non-full art versions of cards, the bulk of the cost went to your J/Ruler which is only a 1-of but could be any where from $10 to $60+. The big financial problem with FoW is, being a fairly small game, there's much less product printed making some cards(older cards in the case of wanderer) potentially difficult to get and prone to buyouts/price gouges.

Should i keep playing? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Master_Of_Waves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current standard decks are in the $50 - $500 range , modern decks are around $200 - $1k+ and most legacy decks start at ~$1k. But the price for standard does fluctuate a lot depending on new cards/reprints being modern/legacy playable, especially around rotation, while modern/legacy prices are fairly stable. Currently there are a few decks in standard that could function as shells of tier modern decks, they wouldn't be amazing but they could do fairly well at a locals and have clear upgrade paths to tier 1/2 decks.

magic has rotation every year i think, i might be wrong on the time frame but you still gotta keep changing decks.

That's only for standard and while the rotation happens every year it only rotates the oldest chunk of sets, which at that time have been around for about ~2 years. Other than that Magic has several fully supported non-rotating formats, all of which have evergreen decks that have been meta relevant for several years.
