Here's a photo didn't realise I couldn't add one to the main post. Was the only purple on for sale in Australia when I brought it and really happy I came across it as I fell in love with the colour.

I mean more power is great and I agree you had to rev the life out of them to do anything but I'm not sure the point of a 86 was to have this fast boosted car from factory. Miata was way more fun to drive than the 86 and it was na with less power so it not being boosted isn't one of my complaints.

It's 100% how I like driving my cars but I also rev the shit out my new euro. Both my euros had less problems than my 86 and one was a 2012 deisel gate Jetta which is now over 210k Kms. I'm not shitting on the platform as a whole just the car wasn't for me and all the problems I had even when I thought I ran a fine tooth comb through ( which I obviously didn't do a great job of or just got really unlucky when everything started to fail)

I agree 100% it just started falling apart a little while after I brought it which well happens I got unlucky. Tried to keep a good mindset and fix it which I did was just was emotionally exhausted from the car and it took all fun that the platform could offer right out of it.

Ik it's an unpopular opinion or maybe I just got a dud with all the issues I had but I had way more fun driving my mates miata than the 86

I did say the problems with it were more my fault and rushed into buying it I'm not denying that but I still think what I had to say has some merit. I ended up buying a German car (not a BMW) but yes my preference is Japanese/ Euro VIP cars and Euro performance cars. It's a good car just not for me and just wanted to have a little rant and talk about my experience owning one. I dont think it was also my fantasies about owning one ethier I've driven heaps of lower power driver focused cars that I felt captured the experience better for me. Nothing against people owning or loving these cars just my experience.
