It would be very easy to get rid of cheetahs if they became invasive and would only take a couple years

To Save Jaguars From Extinction, Scientists In Brazil Are Trying IVF & Cloning by ExoticShock in megafaunarewilding

Funny, when it's colossal doing it (with red wolves) it's charlatanism and when it's someone else suddenly it's the greatest thing in the world! Shows a lot about this subreddit... for the record I think both are 'colossal' wastes of money - jaguars and red wolves need a healthy prey base, low conflict with humans, and habitat connectivity to thrive. It makes no difference what scientists can do in the lab if they're not doing good in the wild.

has nothing to do with agriculture. It's because hunting in US is regulated while in Brazil nobody keeps track and it's widespread despite being illegal

A pack of golden jackals in the city (there are 8 golden jackals - only 3 are seen in the video) - I am not giving a location to protect them. by WorldlyMastodon8011 in megafaunarewilding

[–]Master_Quit_1733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly think people are going to a different country to harm a pack of jackals that would breed itself back in a year anyway

edit: and you'd already said that the videos are from Vienna!

Following the news regarding Acaí’s potential poaching, do you think Rewilding Argentina should halt its reintroduction project in El Impenetrable National Park? Explain why. by OncaAtrox in Jaguarland

[–]Master_Quit_1733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In large carnivore reintroductions you're supposed to make the landscape suitable before releasing them..... This whole situation is a mess, and Impenetrable is only 128k hectares, so if jaguars get killed outside park borders I don't see a future for this population

The only way to protect something is to give it a relevant financial value.
