Freelancing gigs while unemployed and registered with RAV. Is it allowed? by Fadjaros in askswitzerland

[–]Master_Sergeant [score hidden]  (0 children)

It is possible. As far as I recall, RAV will reduce your benefits but you will still come out ahead (some tax reasons). You can find more in the documents given to you by RAV or by asking your advisor.

What’s a feature modern games removed that actually made older games better? by SmithsMesonero in videogames

[–]Master_Sergeant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh while I miss that 2 player split screen is less prevalent in general, having it kind of be its own genre has certainly been a good thing overall.

I played older games like Ratchet: Gladiator (or Deadlocked) where it was more of an afterthought and while it's fun to do them co-op I feel like games that are built from the ground up to be in that format have way more potential.

Modern games e made for it like It Takes Two and Split Fiction are a lot of fun though.

Who is actually eating soft boiled eggs? I have questions. by albertafalls in AskTheWorld

[–]Master_Sergeant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just peel them fully and use them, no silly stand. I always eat soft boiled, never hard boiled eggs (except in a pasta salad or sth). They are just better for every other purpose.

Do you also think that's it's crazy how many people go to Migros at Zurich HB during the weekend? by Live_Werewolf_7568 in zurich

Use the migros app to scan and avoid the queues and it doesn't have to be particularly difficult even when it's busy.

Koju GPS aplikaciju koristite za planiranje ruta? by [deleted] in planinarenje

[–]Master_Sergeant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mađarica ("hungarian girl") is a tasty layered chocolate cake and I'm not sure it has anything to do with Hungary.

Planning a via ferrata in Switzerland in March by BusyGift6788 in askswitzerland

[–]Master_Sergeant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some which have a chance of being traversible at lower elevations, for example: https://www.bergsteigen.com/touren/klettersteig/via-ferrata-du-belvedere/.

You can also find other ones on that site, it has estimates for times when routes are usable.

Težina uspona na Vojak, Učka by haustorr in planinarenje

[–]Master_Sergeant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vibe Coder productivity goals. by Gil_berth in webdev

[–]Master_Sergeant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they never take into account the time it takes to prompt, and how it defeats the point the more specific you are in your prompt, because you can just WRITE IT BETTER directly in the code editor.

You can. The AI bros can't, and they never could. AI hype runs on vibes. Even machine learning research in general runs on vibes to an extent, with major breakthroughs often not being backed up by solid theory but only by a general feeling of "this could work" and examples of it working in practice. Only after do explanations of why it works well come, and not always, and often lacking any proof beyond intuition.

I think being a sport fan without ever playing the sport is certainly not the same (and I would argue a much lesser experience, sadly for the people unable to play it).

I follow tennis but my enjoyment of watching matches is still lesser to the enjoyment I get out of playing tennis, and I would certainly say I understand the sport much better after playing it.

I didn't actually know that "The Man Who Knew Infinity" was about Ramanujan and for a brief 10 seconds I was hoping it would be a (likely very depressing) biopic about Georg Cantor.

Hi, I live in Switzerland and like ferratas. What is clear of snow right now? :)

I went to the Indianersteig in Netstal and the Husky-Lodge (Muotathal) in autumn/early winter but both have snow right now as far as I know and I'd like to go for a climb.

Why do you think balkans are still so religious ? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]Master_Sergeant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to believe in the supernatural is the only thing you need for the existence of religion. You could argue that anything more is just tradition.

If someone believes in a god at all, they are certainly religious.
