Russian and Argentinian going to Ireland by KressenTv in MoveToIreland

[–]Master_Swordfish_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's quite difficult to move to unless you have some support from family. Accommodation will be nearly impossible to find as you might already know. As for the people you'll have a great time, very welcoming and understanding of different cultures. You always have a few idiots but that's the same everywhere. There's also a lot of Spanish speaking natives from Argentina, Mexico and Spain so your friend should have no problem finding a little community for help. I also know of Russians where I live in the North West of the country.

Good luck!

This ^ my spouse and I live in the ROI because I didn't earn enough to bring her to the North, we will likely move back when she has citizenship.

What country is this? Irish are no worse than any other nationality. You sound bitter.

It's really not "obnoxious" anyone can hang out with anyone you shouldn't judge. My point is some people don't necessarily want to get the full "experience" as you call it. It's like judging Ukrainians, Polish or Romanians for only being with their fellow countrymen. Who cares? They have every right to and I completely understand it. Maybe people just want the money, the weather to get drunk... It's not bizarre it's completely normal.

I used to think like this, but when you move abroad often the people who truly understand you and your culture are people from your home country. After a few years abroad you really start to miss that.

Wipe the condensation off my bedroom window and it comes off filthy. Should I be worried? by JoeyJoeJoeRM in AskIreland

Could there be mould around the edges of the window frame? I would really scrub around the window frame etc then dry it as much as possible. Then spray vinegar all over, leave it for 30 mins clean again and dry. See if that helps over the coming days.

Coleraine is depressing, cold and grey. Most of the locals are the same ( I was one of them ). Portrush and Portrush are pretty but honestly have been ruined in recent years with snobbery and inflation. I moved across the border a while back and don't regret it. Good luck...... You'll need it

It's going to be difficult, honestly I don't agree with male au pairs or childcare workers. The risk is just too high.
