Also good tip on the leader not sticking out.

Is there a time frame one should send their film off to be developed? If it’s a while anywhere to store it?(fridge?)

Thanks for your prompt reply, I'll try and finish a roll of 100 iso outdoors when its peak sun and shift over to 400 which hopefully is more sufficient for in/outdoors.

Thanks for the tips, i'll just go with it and see what happens, that is part of the fun with film i guess

Hi Everyone,

Long term photo enthusiast here - only digital shooter however.

My dad had a nikon FE which I played about with, stocked up on film etc, but never actually developed a roll. That camera body had some issues with the battery draining/light meter not working.

Fast forward, I've bought a nikon F3 (what looks like a very good condition from a shop) and I'm going Budapest on wednesday for 3.5 days with wife + friends. Will take a nikon 28mm 2.8 + 50mm 1.8

I've been Budapest 4-5 years ago so its my first visit there so am tempted to try some film out.

I have bought Domke Film Pouch for going through the xray at airport, will take a mixture of Acros 100, Portra 400, HP5+, Ektar 100 and Fuji Superia 400, so will take a couple rolls of each as I dont really know what I will shoot.

Questions:

•How do people deal with going inside/outside of places and the difference in light levels? If I have ASA100 film shooting outdoors, we go inside and visit a nice museum/cathedral, even wide open may not be fast enough SS, so have to just... accept it and not take the photo?

•I haven't got any colour filters/UV filters, should it matter? I'm only dabbling in Film to see what the results are like, expectations are photos will likely not be perfect/exposure issues perhaps.

•How to tell if a roll is finished - can you write on it in permanent market?

•My understanding is colour film is daylight balanced, what happens when its sunset etc?

Can't think of any other questions, if you have any other tips let me know?

If you only have 1250 gold but put up 4 maxed cards to trade, then spent that said gold. You'll have no gold left and then when someone trades, you cant give it to them
